seeking advice for modding safely
mods look fun and i want to mess with them.
i created a mod account, and i've copied the game files, but before i install any mod files, i need to fix this problem:
i log into my main account on the main file, and all's well.
when i log into the mod file, it automatically logs me into my main account. i expected this, so i haven't installed any mods yet. but i log out and log into my mod account. so far so good.
but when run the main file again, i'm automatically logged into my mod account. why? i switch it back to the main account, run the mod file, and it's logged into my main account again! why??

tldr: how do i tell each game instance to log into different accounts by default so i don't accidentally stain my clean account?

However, I can at least commend you for going through the process properly via alt account. A lot of people who post here about modding problems haven't done so

firstly. you're not "modding"
you are hacking.
you are asking how to bypass the anti-cheat that is designed to stop players from doing what you are asking to do.
which is against the rules.
no matter what account you use, you can be banned on the IP you are using for trying to cheat in the game if it is against the rules.

Id suggest not asking how to "mod" things that are CLEARLY against TOS.

"Various mods have been made for BTD6, many of which are often used in a non-invasive nature as a form of the community showcasing new perspectives to the game, including:

Tower mods (e.g. new towers, new classes, rearranged classes, etc.)
Bloon mods (e.g. regrow on MOAB-class bloons, excessive HP MOABs or excessive HP Ceramics)
Projectile mods (e.g. hypersonic attack speed, aggressively homing projectiles)
Graphics mods (e.g. rotating towers, rotating the entire game screen in 3D)
Map mods (e.g. inserting old maps adapted in BTD6 style, inserting popular meme maps)
Game mode mods (e.g. every X seconds a new gameplay change happens)
Upgrade mods (e.g. removing activated abilities and replacing with a weaker permanent ability, price adjustments, etc.)

Rohan Spibo from Ninja Kiwi says that the use of hacks in the BTD6 game should only be done on a secondary account and only involve elements of purely private gameplay, such as the aforementioned harmless mods. Link. " - https://bloons.fandom.com/wiki/Hacking

tldr: modding, harmless, second account, rohan spibo from ninja kiwi says, so, help, or silence.

The irony of saying this with multiple VAC bans XD

just wait for the official modding api to come which they said will be the next 2 patches once that comes i doubt you will need an alt account since it will officially be a part of the game

Probably learning to code is the best advice

You can't have multiple active logins, but your current login token is stored in your Steam\userdata\ 'your steam id' \960090 folder.

If you want to quickly swap between accounts I would recommend making a shortcut to that folder, then just rename the 'local' folder to something like 'local - unmodded'. It will create a new local folder which you can then mod in as you see fit, then when you want to swap back just rename the new local folder to 'local - modded' and the old 'local - unmodded' folder back to just 'local' again. The game will ignore any folders that are not called simply 'local'.

Go about it like this carefully and you should be fine. Just remember to delete the mods folder and any mods you are using before swapping back to the unmodded profile or risk bricking your main, if you're not careful enough when swapping back then depending on what mods you were using that's where you'll have problems

I mean tewty does it and he's not banned or blocked, It's just harmless fun in a virtually single player game

Tewtiy does it for content, plus he knows how to mod the game "responsibly"

i dont mod or anything but i use multiple steam accounts as alts via family share and its a seperate login per account without needing to do all the nk account bs
