But seriously probably do a lot of challenges so you can learn all sorts of limits and technicalities that you wouldn't be considering in normal play to add to your repertoire.
play monkey teams, sometimes it's really difficult to pull a win with them, but this is how you learn
if the bloons sneak through your defense, quit the game before you lose, re-enter it, then rearrange things. maybe just use the activated abilities properly. this should help you taking risks.
don't let the noob towers (druid of the forest, necromancer, bloon trap engineer) ruin your exploration of the game. just suspend using them for a while.
Use Dart monkey at the begining 0-2-3 after that buy Benjamin as a hero (have to select him) after that set 3-4 bannanas farm 2-0-3 In meantime prepare for round 28 (lead ballons) )glue gunner for example 2-2-0 and than to 40 (Moab) you can put for example Wizzard monkey 0-3-2... for Moab or boomb shoter 2-3-0 and later gain more money and poop ballons out.
Remeber also to put something for camo ballons. Monkey Village, some monkey who are able to see them or pick up Etiene (hero) at lvl 8 all of monkeys are able to see camo instead of Benjamin.
Easy peasy.
uhh
its really just a lot of experimentation and trial and error
dont stare at the meta if you dont want to if it works it works
the only mode I'd advise getting help on is chimps if you just can't beat it
personally i dont follow any strategy i just place apes as necessary although i do usually end up with the free dart hero and a wizard at least
also try a bunch of maps on a bunch of difficulties
some maps really make you think ahead and outside the box (or just force you to buy pontoons cough cough primary only flooded valley)
oh yeah and outside of chimps abuse the save and quit feature it'll let you restart a round if you know you're gonna lose
don't do that in chimps though it invalidates the black medal you gotta do chimps in one sitting
sauda is a carry on one lane maps
etienne is good for late game scaling damage and camo detection
ben is cash money
always prepare for r63 and for r90 ddts are hell (i use crossbow master or sum avatar usually i think)
this post is really like a mess of my thoughts take what you will i guess
Strat in the image.

Other viable strat for virtually all easy maps in video.
easiest way - watch CHIMPS tutorials until you can beat a map without using one.
find a tower you can rely on to start with
If you build more than 5 towers in a game, you are better than most players.
Play social and learn how terrible most players are. Then be thankful you can tie your own shoes.
ex: round 24 is your first camo, 28 is your first lead, 37 is your first ceramic, and 40 is your first MOAB
from there, make use of targeting priority to best utilize a monkey's strength along with positioning.
ex: a 3-x-x dart monkey has a bouncing, high pierce projectile. this works well with maps that have long pathways or tight corridors as this projectile can hit multiple times on the same bloon. setting them to last aiming at a good straight stretch of the track can ensure it's aiming in a way that strikes as many bloons as it can.
leveling up and getting good is learning what monkies and their upgrades are good at what, usually people divide them into three categories of aniti-MOAB, anti-ceramic, and anti-bloon.
ex: a x-3-x bomb shooter is a staple anti-MOAB as it deals increased damage when attacking MOABs. however, when faced with ceramics, it doesn't gain this bonus or regular bloons. you'll need to use a different monkey to help deal with this for a nice combo of monkies working together efficiently.
from there it's developing your own strategy, there's tons of already existing ones, but with the ability of being able to put monkies almost anywhere and the varied paths or upgrades, you have more flexibility than you think.
just do what others are saying with 24, 28, 40, 63, etc.
