How to do mods safely

I would like to get into playing with mods. I plan to do an alt account and I want to do everything safely. But how should I go about doing everything. When I swap out of my alt into my main will I just need to delete all my mods, will I need to completely uninstall melonloader, etc. Didn't see a guide for this, and if there is something that already exists: a link over to that would be amazing.

I might’ve done something stupid when trying to find guides. But that’s not the part I’m worried about. Know the gist of doing that and have a tutorial to follow. I’m more worried about just not getting flagged.

I understand that. But say I want to log out of my alt and play on my main. Do I need to completely uninstall the mod loader or just move my mods out of the mod folder.

If you wanna be really safe, drag melonloader and all your mods to a seperate empty folder when you're done, and just drag them back when you want mods again.
