Is Geraldo the best hero?
Someone here wrote that Geraldo is the best hero and I just got 5000$, so I could technically buy him. I already have Psi, and I think Psi is the best, but since I got the money: Which hero would you recommend to me?

Geraldo. There is some tech and a learning curve to him, but he's hands down the best

Sauda is the best hero if you just started the game
Jorgito Arbusto Feb 18, 2023 @ 8:11am
No, that's Psi

Yes you can go ahead and buy Geraldo he is a safe bet and arguably best best for boss bloons.

sauda is hands down best for single lane maps, but i otherwise feel the same for geraldo

Sauda is a trash hero on anything other than single lane, making her functionally useless on the high end maps. Geraldo, Psi, and Etienne are useful on every map.

Ha. "best" as per what?

For bosses. Geraldo/Ben.
Geraldo allows you to build paragon level totems which you would want for doing ELITE bosses.
Most often I can rely on a high level Ace paragon to deal millions of damage int he final rounds of an elite run.
Compared to having Benjamin in play. Ben would assit with money growth through your map. But hey, you can always start your game with instant banks anyway and get a jump on your eco.
Having trophy sit there for a long while can build up a solid 140K+ to be used for your final paragons.

For in game best is going to come down to different metrics.
I say Ezili is the best overall 100%.
Sauda has always been a strong hero since release. In a recent major update her stats have been changed in a very technical way which adjusts per power from early game into a stronger late game potential than she had previously.
This is not a hard buff as it relies on a support build. But also reduces your game to only needing about 6 towers to beat wave 100.

For CHIMPS Runs I have 2 first picks I lean to which gets me through most.
Sauda and Ettienne
Both heroes are affordable after a few dart monkeys to get you through early rounds, or direct to sauda.
ETN has a large impact on your game granting global camo detection by the mid 40's.
Now you can watch ring of fire destroy nearly every bloon on the map. And Icicle take out the rest.
Late game ETN skills do come in to being high global dmg as well. And if you are one who likes to get 2-0-4 Ace monkey, ETN adds to that effectiveness.

Sauda I do not use in higher difficulty maps. Her very limited reach does impede her overall value.
Geraldo is great for being able to plop down turrets just about anywhere. That with his items to enhance towers. He arguably has global reach, or near global. Geraldo is a very technical Hero.
If you know the map, know the wave spawns, know your limits.
Geraldo can perform very highly off very few towers.
But I do rate him as being high reward to a high skilled player.

Psi I feel falls off viability. Is a fine champion to have in a multiplayer game.
And hey, I don't mind Psi even. Fine hero, but I do not think great.

Best comes down to the application.
Obyn is the best choice if you appreciate a druid formation.
Benjamin is the best choice if you just want to overwhelm the map with eco and tower variety and power.

I vote ezili as best for having a weak early game, which can still hit camo.
But coming through in the late game when her levels and skills are powered up.
The ability to destroy MOAB class with fierce dmg and jump from target to target are especially potent in rounds 95 and 98. It one shots round 80, as children MOAB do not spawn. So you eat the ZOMG and are done.
Where Benjamin throws his ability to disable child spawn of a single target. Ezili skill prevents the spawn of thousands in RBE.
What is deceiving about her final score is that this pre mitigation does not count as pops.
So you may compare her 200K pops to being less potent than a 250K pop sauda. But you must factor in the thousands of RBE in pre mitigation dealt by preventing spawn.
If you consider the 3 most difficult waves in impoppable to be 95,98, and 100.
Ezili excels in these waves in a way that no other champion does.
Having Ezili packed with 2 unstable concoction alchemists will ensure that all MOAB pops result in massive splash taking out all MOAB class.
More.
Ezili grants travel distance and +1 pierce to reanimated bloons.
Already the current game state means that having a Necromonkey is enough to complete wave 90-99 alone.
Also necromonkey enhance other other necromancers.
If you have a 2 0 5 paired with 2 0 2 4 wizard with 2 alchs on the map and a 0 2 4 ice. Done.
Now you just need something to break open wave 100.
Tack zone 2 0 5 is cheapest option. 22k capstone.
Necro is what, 32? 34? changes a bit on map and mode you are playing.
So your total cost to beat wave 100 is tack zone + necro monkey. Only require those 2 T5s.
This is very easy and affordable.
All the rest of your towers go up to T4 max and only cost a few thousand to upgrade making saving fo your T5s a breeze.

I use this "explosive zombie" strat with focus on alchs and wizards.
You can put alch up front and turn lead to gold, rubber to gold.
Wall of fire eats up bloons easy and raised bloons clean em up.
Ice monkey permastuns bloon to prevent bloon leak.
Explosions with Ezili mark devastate MOAB class. Set to strong and let them go.
Your T5 Necro is not even neccesary.
Thanks to ezili skill being able to carry you through 95 and 98, you actually only need tack for 100 BAD.
Stack of multiple cheap wizards and alchs work.
Also have the option of going for icicle impale instead of T5 necro. That works ins tacking all targets which will pop to explosions from your alchs.
Cerimics are aso a non issue when dealing with ice stunlock and reanimated bloons dealing extra pierce.
Nice thing about this build is that you can rely on a light +1 eco from a lead alch up front and get by.
Or you can get into farms and full build anything you like. Putting alchs to 0 3 2 is enough, but honestly putting them to 4 to become enraged is a strong active ability you could rely on to get through the difficult waves.
1 fire or 1 ice for wave 63.
Alchs installed before wave 70. Easy easy.

Ezili strat has the benefit ETn strategy does.
Where ETn grants global camo to all towers.
Ezili is able to strip camo from her attacks, and you are using 1 or more necro. This is enough to give you the camo detection you need.
If you really want. Add in a 0 3 2 engineer so you have foam + pins for a soft CC which pairs with your ice to a perma lock.
This gives you a small formation or Engi + ice + ezili where all special abilities will be stripped off targets before attempting to pass. But are permalocked until popped anyway. This sits you in hard depefnded positions where you hold enemies.
If you enjoy glue like I do? Ezili + glue + alchs love each other. Perma slow. Yes.
Stack them CCs.

My best picks are Ezili, Ben, ETN, Fusty, Geraldo, Sauda.
These heroes have specific ability focus to pull out depending on the map and challenge you are taking down.
Good luck!

To build off this comment, Ben is one of the best heros if you want to try different things. On hard difficulties he can typically net you ~20,000 if you place him early. This cash can be pivotal in buying a tier 5 that wins the game.

He does have down sides though, most of his abilities look like they gain you cash, but net they can lose money if used wrong.

Ultimately choose a hero that fits your style. Enjoy long range play? psi is the bet. Want an easy early game? Pick Sauda. Enjoy stalling rounds? Take pat fusty.

In terms of allround utility? Geraldo or Ben would be my recommendations.

Geraldo is probably the strongest hero but he's also the hardest to use
Ackranome Feb 19, 2023 @ 11:08am
Geraldo probably is best because of adpatability but hard to use; he owns every "single path" map easily though. Pretty good at dual paths... has a harder time at tri-quad paths.

I missed it the first time, but I suggest Sauda as first hero choice. She is incredibly braindead to spam autostart+fastforward on every 1-lane map in every easy/medium mode to get the first clear bonus cash, which you can then use for heros you want to try. Do Sauda first, then get other heros. Geraldo, Ben, ET are great picks for different purposes, and from there its more about what you enjoy.
