Whats the point? There is an achievement for 100 and they give almost 0 bonus :/

Same reason people do it for golden bloons: Achievements.

But the difference between the two is that monkey teams, depending on map and monkeys, is usually more fun than doing the same tactics to destroy it.

nope. dunno why NK made monkey teams and golden bloon give so little, but they did.

the reward is likely garbage so people don't just abuse it, but this way it literally only exists for an annoying achievement. Also probably so people don't feel like they got screwed when it tells them to do sub buccanneer village on a track with no water (this is not a problem in other NK games because it used to be on a predetermined cycle so many garbage combos weren't possible)
