There are two ways, in total, to "cheat" CHIMPS' no-income restriction.

One, the prerequisites to the upgrade you mentioned, which reduce price instead of adding money and therefore work. I guess the top path also has some stuff along those lines but nobody cares about them.

Two, what was originally intended as a deliberate lack of synergy between 0-3-0 Ice Monkey and 0-4-0 Heli Pilot (automatically selling land towers placed on the ice of the former if the latter moves it away) still functions, giving a corner case in which you can actually sell towers.

for some reason, a 004 alchemist does give you extra money...
There is also sun god temple/sun god with support upgrades.. but thats hard to get so yeah .....

Then it is a bug... ... if you knew how to proc you should report it...

Since Discounts isn't a form of income booster, so they work, and very essential for Engineer's Overclocking cost check.

not a bug? you just place it and upgrade it to 004 and thats it..been like this for a year or so ...

And of course, Rubber to Gold isn't supposed to generate extra income, that's the point of CHIMPS mode. So it is a bug.
