It also still doesn't make sense, you get more sales with cheaper things which makes more profit in the long run and (with gaming) more consumers actually actively playing your game (which increases your rank on steam, which increases "pushes" - "pushes" being what gets into user's discovery queues and recommendations)
And whilst I am on this rant on prices, why are there games on digital platforms that are more than a year old still being sold at their original RRP? It doesn't make sense.
Before this digital age, a game would come out and within 6 months it would be in a bargain bin for under a tenner. Or it would be in a second hand shop for a fiver.
So how on earth can you put a 25 quid price tag on a game which came out in 2003?
It's beyond me man. Monkenomics right there.
Okay good I'm glad I'm not crazy. I have seen this game go on sale for 4.99 and thought i'd pick it up since I've been playing it on the Apple Arcade.
Yeah it's pretty wild. Usually game developers don't increase the price of an older game. It's like when Hitman 3 came out to steam and Epic Games increased the price to match steam's original release price lol.
Mobile price was set up by 2$ and desktop by 4$
BTD6 on the other hand shown in their most recent update how much content has been added since the base game came out, and I believe it warrants a price increase to match the value you're getting. On sale this game is less than $3 on PC, and with how often sales happen it isn't like that increase in price will REALLY matter. For once I'm willing to accept such a hike, because the product is actually worth it.
