What's the best way to grind the "Sapper" achievement?

I've been recently trying to finish off the btd6 achievements I haven't gotten yet, and a big contender is "Sapper". I know it's suppose to be a grindy achievement, but it's going to take so long.
I've looked up other methods and guides but most of them either lag my pc more than I'd like, or they've been patched out. What's the fastest way to get the "Sapper" achievement that still works today?

Easy, easy map, Alternate Rounds, freeplay, towers that don't strip.

No easy way out of this one bud.

just ignore the achievement and focus on everything else but race/sapper.

Really, Freeplay with VTSG, AFK in lower resolution, remove useless stuff like Farms. Don't even need 500 hours for that, less than 400 is possible.

I noticed apopalypse mode spawns a lot of fortified bloons.

Can someone confirm this mode is better when getting this achievement?

Apocalypse is probably the best to play since also after round 100 the waves remains the same and wont be changed out with nearly only Bad/ddt bloons.

But else alternate bloons is close to same rate of fortified spawns if 1 mode gets too tedious

Apocalypse used a more aggressive way to spawn bloon, faster, dangerous, but more fortified bloons for sure, if measured based on time. I highly suggested to play with as many Monkey Knowledge as possible, be aggressive in economy. Because it isn't just 1 single MOAB in round 40. It is apocalypse, after all. Oh ya, DDT around round 72.

I believe OP want to earn Apocalypse medals and milk for R100 rewards on most maps, anyway. Good excuse for Sapper.

Easy mode Logs freeplay with water VTSG (1/1/1/0 > 2/2/2/1 for best results), a single support Temple (0/0/0/1) in range of VTSG and a few support towers (glue, sabotage etc.) will get you to 300+ rounds and about 6% progress in the achievement with minimal lag. You can go further if you want (with more towers) but imo it is not worth it because of the lag. You are better off just starting again.
If you farm quickly early on you can get VTSG before round 100 and just be AFK for the rest of the game.

There once was a cheesy way to do it, which was to just enter a custom challenge which you could create yourself with infinite money and little bloons health and then grind it that way (less than 12 hours of afk farming for the achievement). Was patched sadly.

Now, aside from all the other tips you got in the comments above there is another way to do the sapper achievement but it's very hard to do. Hope that there is a daily challenge with low moab health, maybe with alternate bloons too. I only saw one of those kind of challenge like some weeks ago and it was coop too, so I helped people going to high rounds. This is probably the best cheesy way to do it but you need to check the dailies everyday and you could even need to wait months so it's not that good.

Thanks for all the replies. I never even considered Apocalypse as a game mode and I didn't think daily challenges would count either. I'll be certainly grinding a fair bit in the future.
