I think it's cause technically someone super bad at the game could get free monkey money just by being baby sitted.

I had co-op partners who clearly had no idea what they do or has a grasp what is going on, let alone finish a begineer map on easy so they basically got monkey money just from me soloing the map with 1/2 money and half of the map available, I can only assume ninjakiwi wanted to prevent situations like that or people milking coop only for free monkey money

The amount of monkey money gained doesn't decrease if you already have a corresponding medal

Map and gamemode difficulties affect your earnings. On top of that, theres a first time bonus for every map and for every gamemode. As for coop earnings, it's probably low because it's likely easier with a group.

You get so little income because the total money everyone gets is actually greater than if you were playing solo (at least it is in the start--everyone has a starting fund which is far greater if pooled together than if you were solo). I think the best solution would be to increase the amount of bloons sent per person/buff them in some way per person, and give everyone normal income as if they were single player. That way everyone doesn't feel hamstrung and can feel like they're really contributing. That's just my opinion though. If NK feels it works fine as it is then seems fine to leave it that way so long as most players enjoy it.

the ammount actually doesn't change when you've beaten a map in co-op

To remind players that co-op gameplay is not the only content in this game. To be honest, most players I saw was just randomly pour in all cash they earned via Bloon popping or just straight up aggressive farming.

Increasing popping cash income and hero experience won't change a lot. But balancing the Monkey Money reward to be lower is a good way to remind players.

You can join official Discord or other Youtubers' Discord to learn more about the game. Rather than trying to learn or progress from co-op. It isn't the ideal way. Even if you aren't keen to certain community, reddit always have some fair discussions about strategies.

that is not at all what this discussion is about

Gives the same - the single player gives a bonus amount initially.
