Gold Bloons: Magic Monkeys Only
... This is annoying.

I've done all I can to try and make an unescapable grid, but sometimes, they'll just RNG phaseglitch their way to the end of the map and escape.

I understand that "Jump ahead or backwards on the track" is so they aren't easy to kill, by trapping them in an endless loop of going back and having to pass what kept hitting them. But when they use it to just zip across the entire field and escape before you get to hit it? That's annoying.

The only magic monkey that can pin them down is x-x-3 Ninja Monkey. But because this is caltrops build, they can instead land right on a caltrop, and immediately jump ahead again rather than get stunned by the flashbang. Not to mention that to deal with the lead variants, you need to have every ninja monkey backed up by a 2-x-x alchemist.

I feel like these Gold Bloons should NEVER be able to escape the map with their teleports. If I'm hitting it that far from the exit, it's not because my defences are lacking, it's because you kept stutter-stepping across the entire map. It's not a case of "the RNG being bad for you, so they escape", it's "if the RNG is feeling extremely generous, MAYBE we'll let you pop it".

Flash bombs damage lead by themselves, if you don't have an alchemist buffing the bomberninjas then the lead gold bloons will brush the spikes off and only get hurt by the bombs. From there there it's mostly about flash bomb placement (distance to target) and a little bit of bounce RNG to determine if your bombers can stunlock them in place.

First two golds without lead are a tad more RNG heavy of course, but those two are also low enough health that if you cover enough of the map then you can pop them more often than not.

Hit the first 2 and restart.

You just need cover as much map as possible with x-x-3 ninjas, so they can always damage it wherever it jumps after get a hit. Then, it's all RNG of where it goes each jump.

You can also use mages, with either 0-4-2 (phoenix with camo detection) or 0-2-4 (necromancer with fire wall) so your zombie bloons can hit the golden bloon on it's path and make some good damage.

I beat it.

But I didn't like it. The Golden Bloon's jumps seem to be set to taunt the player, and that's not even getting into the fortified ones feeling like MOABS.

You can do 2-4 typically on any given map.
