I'll try the Prince of darkness I guess.
It doesn't matter how much you delay them if you don't do anything to destroy them. 6 Maim Moab is a ridiculous amount of money to invest and they would have plenty of delay power, which suggests the rest of your defences were useless against them.
For the cost of those six 4-x-x you could've probably bought a x-5-x Sub which does a lot of damage (or combo'd with an x-x-5 to destroy them instantly).

That was my attempt at Cornfield CHIMPS today. Damage provided entirely by 5-2-0 Dart, 2-0-5 Mage, Sauda and 5-0-1 Alchemist eventually.
as for your hero question, churchill is really good against MOABs, including DDTs, so i would recommend him over sauda in this situation.
A choice of hero probably won't be enough, especially without knowing what level you're failing on and what you're doing wrong.
I've been doing a lot of freeplay to Round 100 after completing various levels (for the collection event bonus) and trying out different strategies. A few fail on the DDTs, some struggle to clean up Round 98, most I've managed to get through.
I managed to do Infernal, Primary Monkeys Only (with Etienne for camo vision) thanks largely to 0-2-5 Dart Monkeys and 2-5-0 Bomb Shooter.
Alternatively, I did Another Brick. Hard using 5-2-0 and 2-5-0 Bombs to basically kill spawn camp the bloons.
My last game was to do Alternative Bloon Rounds to Round 100 on Spring Lake with a 0-2-5 Dart Gunner place directly in front of the entrance (supported by a MIB village) and 0-2-4 Glue Gunner. It totally sucked at dealing with ceramics, so took a few resets to handle the clear up, but it shredded the DDTs.
Of course, on the longer, easy maps you can just drop one or two x-4-x Monkey Aces and blow up the entire DDT rounds.
