You are likely to see lv 20 heroes on harder maps before R100, without MK.
In typical game, you are not supposed to burn money to blindly upgrade hero unless u are too rich or you need... let's say Bloon Trojan at R40.

Adora would be arguably easier to level up via cash due to sacrificing gives better value. However, ofc you are not going to level her too early. Instead, when playing modes especially CHIMPS, you can sacrifice useless 004 Mortar to her in order to unlock lv20 Ball of Light vs BAD.
you may as well let the hero auto-upgrade since you have to spend money on towers/farms just to keep afloat on things like CHIMPS and Impoppable
the sub's energizer ability can be useful on the right map, where the hero's best spot is also close to some water so it can be in range, but that also costs $25,000+ so you have to really commit to get that. and build your tower strategy around it.
i think that subs should grant camo detection to the TOWERS in it's range, instead of revealing camos in it's radius. that way it's like the inverse of what the advanced intel upgrade does
This upgrade only useful in 3 things:
1) Hard modes with CHIMPS/no-eco abuse up to Intermediate maps where you can pull off, for example: Churchill + 4XX Ace + TSAR + Energizer up to R90 Logs.
2) Abuse Brickell abilities
3) Freeplay/Over-eco
About (2), how Brickell works on Advanced and Expert maps are very hard to be told under Energizer's effect. Most players would just go safe with Carrier Flagship and Sub-Commander; or Sub-Commander and Pre-Emptive. Not a lot of players willing to try risky strategies on CHIMPS, thus why no one really tried (2) except in situation (3).
Granting camo detection or even reducing the base cost from 32k to 30k doesn't really encouraging its usage within CHIMPS. This is bcs Energizer is mainly designed for said 3 situations, and a lot of players would spam 031 or 032 Subs instead of Advanced Intel. So there isn't any point to just grant camo.
The biggest bane for not using Energizer is the ceramics, especially Super ceramics on R81+ It just not designed for such purpose, even with bottom crosspath and Sub-Commander's buff.
This also justify why on harder maps the heroes' XP generation are much faster, especially things like Energizer cannot be pulled off easily.
