Why does this game have so many players now?
38k? Like damn. Bought this game a year ago and it would average anywhere between 6-8k. Can anyone explain to me all the reasons as to why the game has been boosted in terms of popularity?

The game was 90% off during the 2020 steam winter sale.

Some popular streamers started playing it too for a while which gave it more exposure. And yeah the price is really low so a lot of people got it.

I got it for the winter sale but I've had it mobile for a while. It's just a generally awesome game that deserves more attention.

It cost $1 USD before taxes because of the sale. At that point its basically an automatic grab if you like tower defense games at all and the reviews aren't horrid.

The game itself is designed to appeal all kind of players, not just die-hard TD player. So it is hard not to have younger players in the community.

Unlike many other TD games, this game receives frequent balancing patch, one of the most important aspects where many AAA games lack of. (This isn't your typical TD where u just need less than 5 towers to win)

Not only sales, but lastly the community where we favour friendly conversation than brutal elitism. Most of the negative reviews are basically whining on not getting what paid BTD5 version have or recent Monkey Knowledge change, which are minor issues. So the players will just keep coming to this awesome TD.

This for me.
Don't mind a TD game now and then, and for 71p (?), it'd be rude not to.

90% off and twitch streamers, that's how you sell a game

1 dollar game.

I'd also like to point out that it's available for mobile for the same price. You can transfer saves from steam and then just share them. First game I ever bought on the Play store.

its because a famous streamer on twitch "Papaplatte" plays it since a few streams now.
