i want you to then look for config files. open them with textDoc or note pad. look for any settings related to fps.
its not the best advice but its a start. if you can locate that stuff in config, simply edit and save.
I do not have GSync, but interesting enough, there is no "Fullscreen and windowed" option for me, there's only Fullscreen. Unless you're referring to a nVidia specific setting in which case I haven't set any for Bloons, but I'll try setting some specifically to perhaps counteract and get back.
I didn't know if editing the config files was a no-no in Bloons (It's actually gotten me banned from online activity in some games for just trying to fix issues :^) ), but if it's not I'll happily do so. I'm quite used to that.
I've restarted a few times, but thank you. I'll verify the cache one more time as well, but I won't hold out too much hope.
Regardless, thank you all for trying and I'll get back to this post after I've tried some more things :)
Edit a week later:
None of the things fixed it, but it eventually just kind of.. Fixed itself. I haven't figured out the cause yet, if I ever do I'll say here in case anyone else ever has this issue. As it stands, it came and it went and I have no idea why.
So, if you run a 2 monitor setup you need to be careful. Especially if one of those monitors is a TV. I usually have my displays set up as duplicates, doesn't hurt anything in most cases. But for some reason, when I run BTD6 with my TV and Monitor acting as duplicates, it locks the frame rate to 20 FPS.
Again, no other game does this which is strange. But, that was the issue nevertheless :) Hopefully this helps at least 1 other person down the road. If you turn off 1 monitor in your settings, or set them as extended displays rather than duplicate.. 60 FPS. Cheers, folks.
I have a four screen set-up, my main 4k monitor flanked by two ancient dell monitors, and then a TV off to the side in front of my bed that was duplicating the right side monitor.
I didn't change the settings, i simply unplugged the TV, and now my FPS is not capped.
However, I also notice one furthur idiosyncracy in my situation. I run bloons full-screen on my main monitor, and generally have other tabs open on the side (also no gsyn for me). My FPS was only capped if Bloons was the selected application. If Bloons was the selected application or primary application, then it was capped at 20 FPS, but if i clicked off to the side applications on my left or right screens, then suddenly the FPS was back to 60 (its a 60 hz monitor). When i clicked back into Bloons, the FPS locked back to 20.
So, if you have this problem and and want to have the quickest fix possible, then you might try bringing up a small window in front of bloons and have bloons in the background. idk if task manager would do this for example.
