It really isnt pay to win. There basically nothing you cant buy with ingame money and theres no pay wall blocking progress. you can unlock everything by simply playing the game which is nice.

NO game that requires a purchase should have microtransactions. It's complete BS.

It's a £6 game, I'm less inclined to be pissed about MxTs in it than say, the triple A £60 releases. So why complain?

Anyhow by what logic do you say this is "P2W"? You can beat the game and unlock everything with the IG cash you earn, the "2x cash mode" (Which I do agree is overpriced at £13.49) does make this easier but let's be honest, the game has a ridiculous amount of monkeys for making IG cash that keeping a steady cash flow isn't that hard at all.

In no way is this game P2W, I suggest you lot actually look up what P2W actually means before complaining.

Paying for monkey money or double cash mode is optional. Neither of them are required to beat the maps. You earn monkey money by playing the game so you can unlock the heroes and "powers" without paying any $$.
Game developers need to make a profit too, $10 (less during the sale) is not very much and this game is constantly getting free updates. There's no paid expansions or anything.

It's not even a PvP game anyways so "pay to win" doesn't actually apply here.

I like how someone replied with a completely reasonable opinion and the OP's response was- "had a bad day? don't post anything" even when the comment didn't have any insults.

Just came back for another comment to say that pretty much all games /should/ have micro transactions. Game developers work far harder making the games than we do playing them so they deserve to be paid. If someone optionally wants to pay them to get small benefits, they should be able to.
This honestly looks like a clickbait thread though pretty sure it was just intended to try and start a fight. Peace out. :cf_Taokaka:

How about just release good games, without anti-consumer practices
That seems to have worked just fine for some thousands of games before le ebin IAP trend
If you can't make profit with initial purchase prices alone, either your marketing or your game suck

p2w has no set-in-stone definition
even taken at face value, it has multiple interpretations

For $60 AAA games your comment makes sense. However $10 and under games do not get enough sales (unless you are extremely successful like Stardew Valley) to actually keep a company afloat.

As I said if some people want to support the company further by buying small optional things, they should be able to. Has nothing to do with how good the game is.

Agreed that P2W has no official definition however it shouldn't even be a term used in single player / coop only games. There is no real PVP aspect to Bloons so any "P2W" features have no actual effect on an individual's game play unless they themselves choose to use those.

Depends on execution. A donation button or cosmetics are fine
The vibe/feel of a game is the sum of all it's parts, artstyle, dialogue wording, textures and mesh, animated loading screens, subtle design choices, attention to details and continuity, placement of buttons in a ui, perceived intentions, etc
IAP gameplay boosters call into question otherwise innocent gameplay design choices, is a tedious grind with a IAP booster meant to be a gameplay design or an outlet to annoy customers into paying up?

a lot of games design core gameplay to fit and entice IAP purchases
warframe(pre-nightwave), aqw, most mobile games

and to the original topic
I don't think btd6 was specifically built around enticing players into IAP, double cash is too expensive for that, but these systems will probably remain in the series now that they're established and have the infrastructure+code

The game is priced so that I can pay $6 for a vast majority of the game content, while others can pay more to unlock that same content earlier. Withour the microtransactions, the game would cost more.

No, there are no pay wall blocking progress (i will copy and paste this on every wall i see like this)

If its so useless, why is the p2w in the game to begin with?

Agree completely, pay 2 win only diminishes the satisfaction to beat a game - Its just a badge of a true loser who can't handle the game as it's designed. Don't get me wrong, pay mechanics are fine with free to pay games but don't belong paid ones at all!

My 2 cents - Developers who adds microtransaction's to avoid grind in a paid game just confirms that they game is so boring that you should pay to avoid it so better just stay away to begin with. Bought several of the bloons before but not this time. Thx devs for confirming this!

Microtransactions give cheaper entertainment to the majority and a fun incentive for some to further support developers. As long as they're implemented properly like BTD6 has done, they're a good thing. I realize modern gamers have tried to wage war on all microtransactions, but nothing is that black and white. It's good to think critically about these things on a case by case basis.
