The shift key

Alright, so I just got this game like a couple days ago, and something weird has been happening, you see, I played quite a bit of BTD5 (somewhere around rank 74 in the steam version, 20ish in flash) and I often used the shift key to spam towers which I'd later upgrade, so when I bought this game I expected this to be the same, but nope, shift key won't work, tried going into the hotkeys menu, nothing, tried looking in the game files for a settings.json or settings.ini but nothing, no hints of using shift to place more towers even existing, and before you say "you need money to place more towers with shift" I tried in sandbox, with infinite cash, but still, no results, so please can someone tell me what happened to this? My shift key isn't broken and I don't know why this feature isn't in the game.

A: Yes! Here's a list of the hotkeys:
U - Place your hero
Q → Y - Place a primary tower
Z → N - Place a military tower
A → G - Place a magic tower
H → K - Place a support tower
1 → 9 - Use a power (main game)
1 → = - Spawn Bloons (sandbox)
O → \ - Spawn blimps (sandbox)
, . / - Upgrade path 1/2/3 respectively
1 2 3[numpad] - Upgrade path 1/2/3 respectively
[space] - Start round/toggle fast forward
[backspace] - Sell selected tower
[escape] - Pause/deselect tower
[tab] - Cycle targetting priority
[shift] - Hold while clicking to place another of the same tower

You told me the hotkeys which I already know, what I want to know is why the shift key isn't doing anything when I hold it down and place towers with it held down.

Bump because issue still ain't resolved yet, even in 11.0. placing towers with shift held still doesn't let me place another and I have to go and get another tower from the side bar.
