I agree with most of this, a story would have definitely been cool instead of nearly mindless puzzles (especially at the start of the game.) Though I also thought some of the puzzles where you had to find things were very tedious. Like the train wheel was hidden inside the DIAGRAM'S wheel of the finished train. What the actual ♥♥♥♥.
I tended to like the puzzles where you had to find things xD I agree some of the longer ones were a tad tedious, like finding all the balls, but it was an enjoyable game. If they made a sequel or even other games, I'd be very interested in buying them.
i was so mad! i shut down the game right away, without doing the puzzle, hoping when i restarted it would put me even back at the beginning of the entire level, because - like you - i'm a completionist... but unfortunately, although the game flashed the level screen again when it first started, it swiftly exited back to the 'tiny bang world puzzle' without giving me time to search for those final two piece.
i probably won't play any more of the game now, because it really frustrates me to not complete everything >.< and i'm several levels into the game now and cringe at thinking of doing the absolute entire game all over again just to find those two pieces i missed.
Aside from this final-frustration, i really enjoyed the game. i liked the silent art work, i found it really soothing.
Kind of late here, but if you liked "The Tiny Bang Story", try out Amanita Design’s "Machinarium", which was the inspiration for TTBS. I see it's here on Steam.
Same style artwork, tricky puzzles, somewhat long gameplay and an actual story, kinda sorta.
They have a few other similar games, but Machinarium is probably the best.
Dear god I love you haha. Thank you for saying this!!
