plus there is a dilemma about region locked , available for the WEST is near 100% impossible as long as SJW is ruling those region , its gonna be a pipe dream ( GO search DOAX3 drama topics with the West last time )
1. These games only exist because they were able to re-use assets from the fighting game franchise, which is dead. Probably permanently. They've still never made an Xtreme game using the DoA6 assets, but I get the impression that the graphics engine for that game is difficult to work with, and KT may have already moved on from it. Plus some people didn't think it was much of an improvement over DoA5 anyway. And also...
2. It's very clear that the more successful business model is the gacha game, and any new Xtreme game would directly compete with that. KT is not going to create a game that is more costly to make and takes more effort to produce, yet immediately earns less money than the game it replaces.
So, looking into my crystal ball, I'd say we're not getting any sort of new Xtreme game until we get DoA7, which we're not getting until there's another big leap in the graphics engine at the earliest (if ever), plus somewhere in between Venus Vacation needs to die.
I think what's more likely to happen is we'll get a partial sequel to Venus Vacation when the average mobile phone can run DoA5 graphics smoothly, and that will probably be the final DoA game.
Not to mentioned there is one dev in the same boat as doaxvv , that is Senran Kagura dev coz you see they rarely make any new senran kagura games but they are now stuck with those senran kagura new link which is the same fate as Doaxvv dev now so yep
but i agree that with key people like shimbori leaving, doa7 is almost impossible. especially since no ♥♥♥♥♥ are given anymore after the doa6 disaster.
This was my favorite mini-game from that release, for sure. Have been wanting to see it return ever since.
As for the future of the franchise, I'm assuming that they'll most likely follow something similar to The Sims. There will come a saturation point when paying players have most things maxed and are paying less often for new banners. At that point, a reboot / new version of the game is more likely, as it resets everyone back to zero, and paying players have more things to spend on again.
That would be actually really nice.
