For SR swimsuits (excluding events freebies) you can burn them for venus coins. It can either be used for a new hair for the girls (Cosmetics) or if you still haven't have the girl yet you can burn enough to get the Girl.

As for the SSR swimsuits, imo even if it's dupe you'd probably want to increase the skill level instead of burning them. Unless you're like dummy lucky, cause you can't get venus coin for burning SSRs, which is weird... If you burn them however, you'll a coin which essentially lets you buy a skill awakening stone for every SSR swimsuits.

Edit: R and N swimsuits are best to be burned for VIP Points or collectibles if you're into that sorta stuff.

N and R swimsuits = trade outfit for VIP points, use VIP points to buy the daily FP drink
SR swimsuits = trade for Venus coins to unlock hairstyles or the hourglass feature for screenshot sluts, for some SR swimsuits they can be skill maxed so you can add them to SSR/SR accessories
SSR swimsuits = for swimsuits that can be damaged its best to just merge them and for swimsuits that can't be damaged feel free to exchange them for Skill Awakening. You don't obviously exchange SSR swimsuits if its the only one for the current girl you've unlocked.

You want to use SR swimsuits for skill awakening to obtain a Potential, though I'm not sure if you can get more than one Potential for the same swimsuit.

I was wondering about that myself. I got several SR suits already at max awakening and exchanged the surplus ones for coins. Would be interesting to know what happens if you max awaken the same suit again. Would be nice if you could max awaken them again to improve the potential to another level.

if you can't trade it, it means your suit are still locked, try to look at your suit thumbnail, is there a padlock icon on it? You have to open the lock first by clicking on the round icon with a padlock next to the tab that says "arms" and open the lock in the locked suit using ctrl on your keyboard, and click on your locked suit.

The potential (once unlocked) is linked to the girl, NOT the suit. You only can get it once.
