2) undo mostly works on land units. Saved my rear many a time. It doesn't apply to naval units or (I think) planes. I have hosed myself there too.
Also another thing I dont like is the lack of obvious info on which units are at war. For example in my present game I came to it after a long period away and coundn't remember if the US was on full war footing or not so spent ages just building up until end of 1942 then decided to try moving my units out of the protection zone and found out they were able to do taht fine so must have joined the allies ages ago! It should be easier to tell who is at war and who isnt. But I am still learning the game (after 40 hrs lol) so I guess a lot of these things will become more apparent as I play.
I do find the whole GUI a bit clumsy and difficult to find the info I need - for example fuel status of countries etc should be easier to find out. And what the heck does chrome do? Things like that should be more obvious in tooltips.
And why the heck cant you take Steam screen shots in this game???
Hi Nats,
Fuel status and chrome are not a part of this game, are you perhaps thinking of another game here?
Hubert
I've seen chrome mentioned in the 'Scripts'.
Undo doesn't apply to land and air units that in moving have discovered new information about the enemy. Nor does it apply to ANY naval unit of any type.
Oil provides MPPs enabling you to produce more, whereas the actual movement ability of units is based on their supply level + terrain and weather.
Many times as ♥♥♥♥ you cannot plan any moves in advance, just click on every ♥♥♥ unit for try and error in order to move to the next hex.
I am an old board wargamer of 30+years experience for the most complex wargames in existence like ASL or World in Flames and its makes me crazy when I cannot cross a chinese river because its raining again or hills on the other side (or full moon or whatever) and i dont know this in advance.
If you are having a hard time seeing certain things try the map mod in the community pack it is great and helps a lot!
Yes, very true. I have given up trying to understand this, too.
its the same for the Chinese as well though. A lot of places seem to be impossible to move further on from. Maybe it was like this in the real war. There are a lot of mountains and valleys in China I guess they would cause a significant bottleneck to large troop manouevres.
It would be nice to see a recommended path over several turns to a hex to help though.
Easy solution research mobilty!
1) Not sure I get this issue - I use 2D counters so maybe that's why
2) Agree - I've fat-fingered a command and got an amphibious instead of transport for example and a Ctr-Z should have been an option
2) While I understand the frustration, the undo rules are to keep it from being exploited. True, that is for MP mostly
The problem is the unit bases are on and cover over the city/town graphics. But when I turn them off it makes the units quite hard to see.
It is very annoying to keep moving my units out of towns and cities not realising they were in a really good defensive location. I wish there was a popup or something saying something like "this unit is well entrenched are you sure?". Its probably the most frustrating thing in the game for me. I do admit I tend to rush my turns a bit.
