THE WAYLANDERS

Devs are bribing others for positive reviews, any truth to this?
Is this true?

https://www.reddit.com/r/rpg_gamers/comments/hchtpj/the_waylanders_studio_offered_money_to_me_for/

"Hi!

My name is Luis and I previously worked in Gato_studio (La coruña, Spain) that is the studio behind the Waylanders, yesterday Sergio that is the sub-boss and coordinator on the studio offered me pay the game in steam if I would able to leave a positive review on the game.

Well, they are the same that revoked my contract more than a year ago, and with me also others co-workers (that we worked in art) to use that money to hire famous gaming industry/films people.

well, ♥♥♥♥ you Sergio. I still can pay my own games (just good games)

ALSO, they had public budget as aids to get motion capture technology (MUCH PUBLIC MONEY), (and it was published on local press: https://www.lavozdegalicia.es/video/coruna/coruna/2018/03/13/videojuego-the-waylanders-llevara-galicia-162-paises/0031_2018035750704035001.htm)

And finally the game animatios just sucks :/

(the early access release day they get a 56% positive review on steam: mixed, and with each new day you can see a lot of new positive comments and currently they get 61%, with a game that aside of others bad things is literally unplayable with bugs that ruin your game, if you dont trust me just see by yourseft the steam reviews!)

Updated: after just two days after release and without release a new update they rate now is 63% !! and if you go to the comunity hub discussion you can see a loot of people asking for help with their bugs and request!, this is vey blatant! Click on most recent reviews and all are positive!! (just read them)"

I believe this post is going to be deleted soon, but for those who stumbled upon it, most of the comments on the Reddit page are criticizing the lack of evidence presented by the accuser. I'm going to quote one of the replies:

"To sum up.

This Luis guy states that he is ex worker at Gato Studio and says that his former boss offered him money to buy the game of the studio and post a + review on Steam, but doesn't have any proof of that.

He doesn't have proof that he worked for that studio either.

He doesn't contact press because he states 'they are paid by the developer'.

He states also that the game is bad and should not have good reviews, especially without any update, when in fact there was an update on 19th of June.

Grab the popcorn and watch the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥."

So basically someonedoesn't like the game, thinks the game sucks and is saying "devs paid me to give a positive review!" but didn't show any evidence. Sounds a bit suspicious, right?

Not blaming you oblisk for posting this!

Accusations should always be investigated, but this Reddit guy (whose account was just deleted) sounds like a hater attacking the developers for no reason.

If this is true the devs offered the game for free to a ex-coworker and asked him for a good review. Bribe is not the appropiate wording.

I am one of the reviewers who got this game for a review and the only message I have ever received from developers was "This is an Early Access game - please treat it as such". I hope this helps.

Yeah, sounds like an emotionally damaged individual lashing out.
