Fullscreen 3440x1440 is too big for screen
Setting to fullscreen 3440x1440 cuts off the bottom of the screen. (And maybe top too...) Also many pop-up menus open larger than the screen resulting in needing to end process task because I couldn't exit from menu, move menu or X out of menu.

I'll add even in Windowed mode it cuts off the bottom and won't snap to fill screen.

same issue here ultra wide screen resolutions make the game unplayable since part of the tutorial is closing windows that are cutoff at the top or bottom and we are unable to move the window to get to the close window or next buttons

Hey, VinylRabbit, if you haven't figured it out yet, you can turn the HUD scale down. I had to turn it all the way down and it fits on the screen now.

What the hell kind of set up do you have, that supports a 3440x1440 monitor!?

A dope one 😎

I might have to just try a different resolution window mode. I was full screen then 3440x1080 with HUD all the way "left" on the zoom slider. Default resolution is 5120x1440. I'm not sure why that causes it to mess up a dialog window's height. 1080 seems like it would be pretty reasonable.

The HUD zoom doesn't make it fit for me. I get to the part of the tutorial where you have to use the Work menu and then can't see the X to close the window.

The main menu screen background also does not stretch across the whole screen in 3440x1440 resolution.. hope devs can fix this as it's a 10/10 game so far

Outside the tutorial you can mostly work around it. The construction menu is the only one I've found that isn't so much. It cuts off the top row so you have to nip at the very edge of the buttons. But it's so awesome looking I want it taking every bit of screen it can.

The right side panel also has some overlap issues with resource/inventory and 'hotbar menu' items like Work, Mystery, etc.

I REALLY wish they'd sort that out a little better. It can be worked around, and you can always just run in a "reasonable" resolution, but it's so damn pretty and the black bars of cropping it seem such a terrible waste.

I would also really like to (would pay for) have the existing wallpapers and even more of them in 32:9.

Two years later and 3440 x 1440 still sucks.

Good, because that's a crap resolution that is entirely unneeded.

Hah! No. 1080p is as big as I ever want my resolution, even though I could go to 1440p or even 2K. Stupidly high resolutions just make your UI stupidly small in scale with no discernable benefit visually, while also tanking your framerate unless you throw down half a grand to a full thou on a higher-end GPU (which still are rediculously priced, even for older cards).

I mean, that's your call but you're only limiting yourself based on some weird preconceived notions.

UI is quite easy to adjust if you need to and I've never had any issues with low framerates. And until I upgraded at the end of last year, I was using a 1080ti gpu which you can probably find on ebay for $150 but even like a 2000 series, or 3060/3070 should be fine. you don't need to have the top-tier, newest GPU to power a UW monitor.

All I can say is that I upgraded to UW a few years ago and it is hands down the best upgrade I've ever made. Both in terms of productivity for work, modding, and even just being able to have multiple windows open all the time. but also for how it has made gaming/immersion SOOO much better. I don't think I could ever go back to a standard screen. At least I wouldn't as long as I have a choice.

But you called it a "crap resolution that is entirely unneeded." this just tells me you have never actually experienced UW and have no idea what you're talking about. If you're happy with 1080p that's fine but don't jump to condemn something you don't actually know about.
