Tiny demographic - less than 2.4% of the Steam user base is running OSX of some kind. No financial incentive to build and - more importantly - support a whole separate version.

I'd consider looking at the console version (XBSX/PS5) as it will likely ship before the OSX version, if there ever is an OSX version.
Bro that is :steamsad: for me
and ksp1 has mac

Nobody wants a release for OS X, we want a Linux release!

When the 2.4% gets mocked by the 1.2% xD
Priority would probably be PC > Consoles > Steam Deck > Mac (if ever).

KSP1 works fine on mac because that game was more CPU intensive and developed for intel macs with either AMD/Nvidia GPU.

KSP2 would need to work on intel and/or apple silicon (+/- rosetta) with Apple/AMD GPU. 2 separate CPU and GPU platforms on an OS not used by a lot of gamers out there.

It may be released at some point in future but I doubt you'll ever see performance similar to titles on Apple Arcade. Couldn't see why a primarily PC/Console dev would put in that much effort really.
This can't even run properly on a high-end PC yet. Macs need not apply.
Ask apple, you cant game on their M1 or M2 CPU's they put in everything, you are basically running ARM. They are more preoccupied with blocking windows from running than helping consumers have a useful product.

The game barely works on Windows, imagine on Mac

I'm constantly amazed by all the people who have clearly never used a Mac, but insist they're experts on them.

The reality is that the only that that prevents gaming on Macs is that developers don't usually bother. Meanwhile, the KSP2 devs have literally stated, in response to questions about Mac/Linux support that they "are always looking at ways to bring KSP to as many players as we can!"

Support on Apple silicon Macs will probably depend on support by Unity. (I'm not sure where that stands at the moment, but as of January last year they were making progress.)

Combined with the extremely weak GPUs and very high resolution screens you mean?
