Kerbal Space Program 2

KSP 2 is worth $15.40.
That was the price of KSP 1 when it first released into early access on Steam, $15.40.

In its current state, KSP 2 is analogous to KSP 1 when it initially released into early access. So it should be priced at around $15, plus maybe another $1-2 for inflation.

When the price reflects the available content that can be played right now, I'll buy it. Paying $50 for the game in its current state right now is like paying $12,000 for Tesla full self-driving 6 years ago. I don't spend money on a promise.

I refunded until it takes less than 3 minutes to load between transitions, and when the UI buttons work. How it takes minutes just to watch the in-game tutorial video baffles me, as I expected it to load faster than KSP2 after seeing some footage.

Considering inflation, I'll bid 24.99, Bob.
Lets move on to the showcase showdown. I'm bored.

That's exactly what I paid for the first game and I never felt bad about it. Reviews for KSP2 would be much higher if they just priced it right...
me thinks they got some sort of financial issues

Seems like the publisher thinks this game is finished with that price tag, which makes me scared of the future of ksp 2.
When would they pull the plug and stop developing the game is what i am afraid of.
Wouldn't be surprised if we will see dlc coming out before this game is done.

I agree. This pricing is unspeakable. There is no denying it. Everyone running around with their tounge out spitting that this is fine and all the "Early Access" crap are delusional and in cognitive dissonance. A complete hysteria this is.

Does work that goes into the modeling, and texturing mean nothing? KSP 2 is not analogous to KSP 1 at EA release. We have the whole solar system, exquisitely detailed. Much higher variety of parts, also exquisitely detailed. Fully modelled and textured cockpit interiors, and how about that launch tower and the rest of KSC (which is downrange of the launch pads - interesting layout choice I admit). A map view with any patch conics. Can't say the same for the UI though, I really hope an overhaul is on the roadmap

I am an idiot, i would have kept the game for 29€, but for 50€, no. My refund is pending.

Question for all of you moaning about the price. If you got to pay the price for whats there now lets say $10, are you ok if they charge you again as they add more stuff? If not you have no argument.
Its always weird paying full price for a game, where in which you the player are taking on the active -job- of QA. You are bug hunters, and reporters. You are paying them, for a job they'd normally have to pay someone to do.

This is nonsense, I bought KSP1 long before it was even on Steam and it was never as bad as this, absolutely never. I wouldn't say it's comparable to any version I played.

Here's a very early version of KSP1:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kk_ABd2E2No

It's missing most craft parts but it's largely working as intended though in a very "minimal" way.

Here's a video of KSP1 from a year or so later, shortly before it entered Steam Early Access: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1JPM8ZG3ug

You can see, it's actually what might be reasonably called "early access". By this time it was fairly stable, it was a bit slow, the graphics aren't polished, but everything was mostly there.

Here's a video (with some modded parts) from about a year later:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rFjPOz2dlQ

It runs much better and has some better quality of life stuff, but is still fundamentally the same game.

KSP2 still needs to make the journey to being as stable and performant as in that first video, and that's after 7 years of work. At no point did ships just fall out of orbit totally at random and without user input, for example. It's unthinkable that the game could be this far behind schedule, but here we are.

For 20€ I would have bought it and let it mature, if it matures fine, if not, no big loss.
50€ on the other hand...

Pay me to be Q&A! No way they have anyone in that department the way the game came out so give us money to find the bugs
