Is grinding possible?
Can you grind your characters to be overpowered which would ultimately make the missions much easier/trivial? Can you replay old missions for XP for example? Grinding is possible in almost all RPGs. In other words can you beat the game by grinding instead of actually getting better at the game? Is the best/easiest strategy to just grind if you're playing to win?

You can grind for XP in old missions but you get a 50%penalty to to XP gained for doing old missions. But all you will get is ability cards and no more gems.

Grinding is possible but really long , because you have a big xp penalty when you replay a mission. You can earn extra xp if you complete side goals you didnt complete the tries before

I you do several times the same mission , the xp penalty is much more than 50%

It's somewhat slow, but I did a tiny bit of farming on the Necromancer in order to level up my 4th party member that started out way behind everyone else. He spawns enemies indefinitely in the same spot if you leave his health at zero.

If this isn't intended, the devs should nix the XP from his adds in a future update.

Even if grinding/farming is not very effective, I'm disappointed that it exist in the game at all. Otherwise this game sounds great.

First of all grinding is optional and very time dependent. Second it wouldn't make your heroes overpowered. I grinded after finishing the campaign to see what i'll get after learn all skills only +1HP per level and buy every item in the shop. So grinding only gives you possibility to learn all skills to try different strategies, I see nothing bad in this.

I agree I generally hate it when games allow you to grind to trivialize missions but this game has found a good middle ground since leveling up only makes your characters more flexible, by learning new skills. There are a few traits that increase stats too but these are really the exception. Als you have to choose betwen 10 traits/stats nontheless so at given point you don't get necessarily stronger. This game is all about tactics definitely.
