Any other games where you play as a mass of flesh?
I have a hunger for more experiences like this. I have found memories of Prototype back in the day.

I don't feel like dead cells really counts. It's not really a "horror" game, used loosely since we are including Prototype. Its kind of an action platformer with more focus on the Metroidvania and high difficulty aspects than the actual "horror creature" or power fantasy concepts. I feel like that is more the parts that OP is looking for. Games where Player character is "The Monster" and you kill the humans. The reversal bit. Not just the "being a blob of flesh" bit. And in dead cells yes you are a blob, but you spend most of the time being the head of a body. So again, kind of a stretch.

As for OP, can't think of a ton off the top of my head but I am sure there's gotta be at least a few I am not thinking of right now. There are however other games where you get to play as an antagonist creature of other kinds against the humans that I can think of right now. Off the top of my head there's "Destroy All Humans" which I believe is getting some kind of remake right now? And also Stubbs the Zombie. Both are kind of goofy games with comedy elements though. Can't really think of something in the same vein as both this and prototype at the moment but I am sure I have played something like that and am just forgetting it. The alien campaign in the old AVP 2 2001 was pretty good I guess. That's kinda similar where you start out as the face-hugger. Its Abandonware by this point too so you can grab it and try it out right now.

Mo: Astray ?
( Yes, it's more something like a water-blob, but I can't help to find some similarities when playing these games, despite they didn't have the same purpose... :Aurion_Wonder: )

The Darkness II

Technically, you are not a mass of flesh, but you are a demonic gangster, who (besides an arsenal of firearms) has evil tenticles you can use to slaughter enemies in gruesome ways. For example, you can shove one of those tenticles up a bad guys,,,, uhh, "behind orifice" and rip out his spine out that hole.
Pretty short game, but very fun, and extremely violent & gory.
If one doesn't mind more puzzley aspect, there's

https://store.steampowered.com/app/463930/The_Dweller/

...and of course this:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/206370/Tales_From_Space_Mutant_Blobs_Attack/

At least you get to eat humans in both games AND you're a mass of something, if not necessarily flesh.

AH! How did I forget the darkness. Of course! I played both of those.

I suppose there's also that new Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 coming. Too bad its on epic tho. I just hope it doesn't suck somehow. Not a flesh monster but you do get to hunt humans.

I know the tone won't match but you should check out Stubbs the Zombie. You play a lone zombie who can create other zombies by biting humans, who can in turn bite others. It allows for these really cool moments where you reach a turning point and infection just starts exploding until you have a mindless horde swarming the police barricades.

This is not really what I am looking for but I played it earlier this year. One of my favorite indie games. Surprisingly touching.

Nice suggestion. I played these games already on the PS3. I wish the first one would come to PC. WE really need a third game too.

The slow pacing kinda puts me off.

Also whoever mentioned Destroy all Humans I bee picking that up since I wanted to play it on the PS2 but never got the chance.

Thanks.
