Locked out of botanical gardens after first time through

After going through the gardens the first time I pulled the lever by the exit before leaving which closed the iron gate, upon returning later for what I missed the switch had not reset and the door was still closed, I assume this is an error or i'm missing something. Great game was plenty of fun while it lasted!

yeah im stuck there too, i got the save spot, went right, laser...tirpped it, went through the upper part, found the lever, only way now is back to the laser, which closes the door, and the other door above the save point is still closed, either due to a glitch or the laser...im now trapped here...

Have to get invisibility...which I have no clue about, apparently.

ok so if you go in the top right area of the hub of botanical gardens, you keep going right, past the 2 lasers, go to the top end of the fork at the 2nd laser, go through there, theres a section with a fan, right of that is the gapped squares, need to be a smol carrion and shoot cobweb at the lever to your right, to progress to the area to get invis

But i have the invisibility, i beat the gardens, mostly. i just want to get back in there. the doors are locked from the inside and i cant get IN the gardens.

yeah turns out on a replay that pulling the lever by the door before you leave will toggle the door one time only, locking you out if it's already open when you pull it. Currently need to replay the game to 100% now

Oh F, this sounds like the point where I am stuck now. So game breaking bug there? Noice... Does this mean I have to start a new game and how do I avoid triggering this bug again?

Edit: The bug is in reality just PEBCAC (controller and xbone). There were some game mechanics to learn for me. cuni helped - solved now.
