pixel art...
I wish this game wasn't in pixel art style, don't get me wrong it looks amazing!! But it would look even cooler with neat 3d models and it could still be 2.5D, something along the likes of Inside or Little Nightmares. Just saying...

maybe.....it could also ruin it though. Not a huge fan of pixel art but this looks pretty good and if it supports large resolutions then its harder to notice that and you would not have to wait 6+ more years if its made from a small group and way way more people can run the game well too, not everyone runs a gtx 1080TI or better.

I get your point though, not everyone can get into pixel like graphics.

After this one becomes success, they can work on sequel with improved graphic. This still looks nice, but I wish we could get better graphic. Less pixel, smoother line.

Well these are the dewds behind butcher... so I think pixel art is more their shtick but I wouldn't mind a mode that changed the graphic style being added as an update or maybe supporter dlc...
Somedthing for those that want it but doesn't change the game for the people who like pixel art stuff... like me... I really really seem to like it heheh. I dunno just thoughts.

I played on the atari for hours and hours as a kid, it was fun, use your imagination.

Little Nighmates also takes a certain kind of skill to deliver its aesthetics/style, so it's not as simple as just making it 3D.

With 3D, it is much harder to animate objects and give proper detail (mainly texturing). Personally, I think the humans NPCs could already use some work, but if they were in 3D, it's unlikely the devs would go great lengths to animate hair and clothes, as they seem to be in the footage. I already think the world could be more unique, but if it was 3D, then I think it would repeat its assets even more.

Another advantage of 2D, is that we get to see walls, ground and ceiling's cross-section depth. We can see the blood, or organic waste, stained into these surfaces. That wouldn«t happen with 3D or 2.5D.

To finalize. 2.5D games usually give the sensation of disparity between spacious areas in the depth at where the player moves and the far off background. Another problem is that climbing and dropping from platforms never looks decent.

I just hope it has more chill than Noita..

Pirates and Space Zombies did not translate well to 3D.. Risk of Rain translated extremely well to 3D. I'm not sure this would benefit from the 3D treatment though because of all the particle sim stuff going on.. they'd have to do it right I guess, it's not happening for Carrion 1 obviously.
