Lickers in Area 1?!
Is it possible that Lickers are spawned like 10 seconds into the game on Area 1?
Had 3 games with that, kinda feel like its a bit too OP.

Had a game like that earlier on downtown where they had 3 lickers and a tough and partially armored zombie all boosted with the infection buff as Annette. Couldn't even get past the second door as they spawned in two more in the office area before we lost.

Once Annette gets the creature energy-reduction mod at her later levels, then combined with her -1 creature cost skill and the -1 camera cost card, she can get Lickers down to 4 energy - plus a clone for 5 energy.

If it takes you ~45 seconds to get to her ambush location, then she could have 4 lickers ready if she recieved the right cards.

With that said, Licker AI is really terrible (players can just run away or close a door behind them) and you can't control them, so it's better to have a Licker or 2 plus strong zombies to support them.

You unlock the Licker Card through Annette, the Licker is also an award for defending the supply zombie. It's also a special card for Annette, and when unlocked becomes available to use in map presets.

Also effected by the Clone card, which copies the last card you played for one point less.

Is this another situation of a player not knowing enough about the game and assuming cheats?

I didn't see if he even specified how many lickers he saw.

I am playing as Annette, played games recently using lickers in area 1, that might have been me you played against o.o
Anyway in most area 1 you can place 2 lickers as preset, and creating a third one, while consuming a lot of bio energy, is possible early in the game.

They are indeed tough to deal with, especially with the hp boost equipment and berserk enhance.

Though you have to place them slightly further ahead to have time to prepare a good ambush and possibly create a zombie to use as crimson head :O

Layouts can have any creatures and traps you own, up to an energy limit. Most floors are 15.
Lickers cost 7 energy, so you could have two out by default on Downtown 1.
Its also possible to get 7 energy very quickly.

It is very easy to have Lickers at 1, as energy generation doesn't (usually) scale based on zone, and you get 7 energy in about 30 seconds. One of the people you may have faced was me, I tend to use Lickers downtown in zone 1 in that little meeting room.

You can put lickers in area 1 in map presets. no cheating required

Some just spawn everything 10-30 seconds in. I doubt those aren't cheating. I believe devs would at least make you able to have enough ammo to kill all threats at any point of the game.

It's really sad Capcom is so bad at making the game that it's impossible to tell if someone is cheating or not.

Well, you can get heavy ordnance like minigun and grenade launcher from january at the start.
Also, i'm going to assume that "10 seconds" is hyperbole, since it would take you more than that to buy items, run to the first door and break it down.

That being said, if you wanted to, you could fairly easily get 3 lickers in the first room. I'm often enough up to 7 or more energy before survivors start getting a move on. That said, i'm not sure how much use it would be. Lickers can make for a good distraction, or as backup to an attack with a controlled zombie, but on their own they're really not much good against anyone who doesn't just panic. Now if we could CONTROL the little buggers... Can we have that as the special power of Albert Wesker if we get him as an MM? Control over non-zombie creatures :p

You can have one licker down on your map preset for area 1. Then you can possibly spawn another in the next 10-15 seconds if you are lucky. Thats it. On area 3 though you can potentially have 4-6 down in the first minute.

Depends what level you start with, as they all have different preset energy costs.

On the maps with 15 starting energy you can have 2 Lickers in Area 1. Research and Casnio have 10 starting energy, and Downtown and Abandoned Park have 15.
