Save slots not working
So I installed ReShader to mess around with some mods, then when I was finished with it I deleted it. After I deleted ReShader, all of my save files except for the top 3 were gone. Now I can no longer save into any slot except the top 3. If I save into one of the lower slots, it says that I am saving but the slot still reads NO DATA and is not loadable.

First I tried verifying game cache to fix it, that didn't work. I then uninstalled RE3 and reinstalled it, and then completely deleted the folder and reinstalled it again, but I've still got the same issue.

Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Very similar bug here. I just noticed that i can't save in the last three slots at the bottom of the list, the saving window appears and everything seems to go normally, but the save slot remains empty. Luckily i lost only a bit of progress at the hospital before i noticed this. Overwriting any previous save works fine.

I didn't use reshader or mess with the files in any way, so it's probably not the reason. Save files should be somewhere in Steam's remote folder, gotta backup those, clear the folder and check again.

Any idea where the saves are located, specifically?

Might be Steam/userdata/*your id*/952060/remote

But i can't check if it's really RE3 files right now.

Dude! That fixed it! I took out all of the files in the folder at

Program Files\Steam\userdata\6512620\952060\remote\win64_save

and put them in a backup folder, then launched the game. The game took a long time to launch, but when it got through all my saves were restored and the slots are working again. I suppose it resynced with the cloud. Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

Great! I'll do the same before playing next time then, thanks for trying it.

Backup folder? Just a different folder or a specific one?

Just any different folder. Create one and dump the files there.

Find the file extension in question under this key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts

Deleting the sub-key with the same name as the extension you want to un-associate will delete the default program association. You’ll have to kill and restart explorer.exe for this to take effect.

You may will also need to remove the same sub key from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT as well.
