all it does is take a huge chunk of performance and give you nothing in return
for a little bit of light, special in the resident evil games nobody will even notice anyway.
Yeah well, that's not the point here. Not because someone think 4K is a gimmick that does not offer any improvements over 1080p, it means that the 4K option should be removed from everyone's PCs, specially from those with capable hardware that can run it and still have a good performance
As much as people trying say it's a gimmick it is the future. Since ray tracing been around for awhile now... Much longer then me and you been alive. Just reaching to a point we can start doing it in realtime. As well its pretty damn noticeable in the games since in RE2 and 3's case it affects the lighting and reflections. As well it's pretty light compared to other RT implementations due to it was made with consoles in mind.
make sure you close out of steam completely then use the shortcut to open steam. Next to your username you should see console. Click on that, then enter "download_depot 883710 883715 4596656973454619188" but without the parenthesis. that will download the game as it was and after some time in the console it will say it was downloaded somewhere like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_883710\depot_883715" Now delete or backup the contents of your Resident Evil 2 folder, do not change the folder name or location just empty it out then copy the contents from your new download and you are golden. If you did the hd mod then you will have to reapply it but doing this will be like steam never did the update even the steam still thinks it's still the new update so it's not gonna force it again.
For RE3 do the same thing but instead enter "download_depot 952060 952062 7305189131432908184" into the console. Once again without parenthesis. Obviously same thing empty out your updated RE3 folder and put the files you downloaded from the console in.
Mine (rtx option) isn't greyed out either. So, I guess it's enabled again???
The game got patched. So RT and 3D Audio is back.
