Right! and Capcom take out that horrible zombie thing in the distance at 30 FPS. On PC you don't need it, at most put a setting for potato pc

edit:
I meant the update that introduced the RT
Gone to where they were when people actually paid for the game.
Maybe Capcom have looked at the stats and realised that people do not spend 1000's to upgrade every time a new software feature is released... and NEVER will.
75% Of the ENTIRE gaming PC population still have not (and will not) upgrade to Ray Tracing capable machines... it adds absolutely nothing amazing visually and craps out performance.
If people are going to try and play the capitalisation game when the cost of things are going up and wages are not in 2023... they can swing on the nearest hook. Capcom Japan raised their employees wages in line with inflation... but ONLY Japan, The rest of the world has not.
Higher prices and lower wages = Less customers... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE.
Also @ Capcom
RE4 RM has failed to sell as-well as RE2 RM not because of RT... it failed because it's RE4... which is not a RE. Us oldies who stopped playing RE when RE4 was originally released are going to do the exact same no matter how many times you "Remake" it.
You sure do firmly have your head lodged in the sand.
I am fully aware "tech advances"... but Ray Tracing has been proved that the graphical improvement is far less than the increased performance requirement.
Tech advancement is getting more out of the same. Not "bigger and better", this is not the Apple Iphone.
Also the stats from the actual people shows people are done with "marketing" and forced compliance. Especially when 80% of "new" features are now software based. Like people implementing software updates to slow down, destroy or block hardware in a attempt to force sales of newer hardware... Apple and Microsoft can shove that tactic where the sun doesn't shine... and Nvdia, AMD as-well as software developers who are trying to do the same can also join them. (Hence why Capcom have pulled Ray Tracing... because it didn't work. People did not go out and buy there sponsors newest card to be able to play the game... especially after buying the game and it not being a requirement).
But lets go back to the original point... If costs go up and wages go down... it don't matter how much technology advances... it's not going to sell to the masses no matter what tactic companies or even governments try. Release the "Best game ever" that requires the latest upgrades or the most expensive stuff... the masses are not going to buy it unless the ENTIRE financial situation changes and are going to your cheaper "enemy" to buy hardware and software completely ignoring your "best game ever".
Welcome to a Recession... 80% of countries are in one and no matter how much it bothers companies and governments, no matter how much they try and hide it and change the official definition.
Food and warmth is more important than profit and more important than the latest technology... NO EXCEPTIONS... even including the western way of life will not override that.
It may be optional but it "requires" Direct X 12+ to run. Resident Evil 2+3 were sold under Direct X 11 as the requirement.
Direct X 12 offers little visually over 11 yet requires a heavy amount more power to run the exact same features being run in the 11 Engine.
That is why when you run the exact same settings in the different Direct x versions you get a LOT more frames in the 11 Version. Direct X12 is not an upgrade... whilst it may offer features not found in Direct X 11, it handles Direct x 11 features worse, it's nothing more than a software tool to get people to upgrade hardware.
