How to dodge with keyboard ans mouse

The settings indicate the shift button and A to go left , I havent played this game for a while. When i used the combination i seem to dodge into zombies at start of game, I am not sure if i missed on running to the door.. I get the windows key mapping interferring

yes i saw that. Interesting i used the Run button and A to get past zombies in Get out of town part. At the elevator it didnt work to well but Jill still lived just a zombie bite ftom one

Dodging the elevator zombie can be a pain. Can be done with sprint or the dodge button, but, the timing can be tight on both.

If you watch the startup animation for the zombie lunge there's a window where spacebar will just iframe through it. Less useful at that point is the other half of it where a successful dodge will let you hit the aim button to auto-aim at the zombie during time slow.

Its all about timing especially on the harder difficulties
