The trick is to recognize the different attack patterns:
1. Drum beat(easy to dodge)
2. Swing. Nemesis will do 2 swings and then follow with a #3 smash. This is the best chance to attack after dodge.
3. Smash with left hand first(Jill's right). With defense coin, you usually just need to dodge one of them to survive
4. Smash with right hand first(Jill's left). These are quick successive smash and Nemesis could stop at some hits(4 to 7). You need to dodge all of the quick successive one to survive
Reloading ammo or shooting Nemesis outside of dodge is usually dangerous as if he hits you with the #4 right hand smash, it is a game over. So I usually will only hit if I feel it is safe or if I'm in a perfect dodge.
When the fight starts, move to the left and Nemesis will usually start with a #1 Drum beat follow by a #2 swing.
Hope this helps. This is a tough fight. Good luck

Nothing throughout the whole game prepares you for this bossfight. It's unfun, unfair and beyond ridiculous. I had an amazing time running through the rest of the game on higher difficulty so I decided to not ruin it for myself by smashing my head against the wall trying to beat this boss.
I had an easier time beating Fume Knight in Dark Souls 2 than this bs
But then again, NO OTHER fight either on Nightmare or Inferno mode throughout the game is unfair like this one.
So again, you want my advice? Let it go. It might sting your ego just a tiny bit but I promise next week you'll forget all about it and even laugh at yourself for thinking about putting yourself through this BS.
its not , it actually happened so take your time and dont miss i say im for the chest lol doubt its hard to miss but it happens
