Intermittent Stuttering
Game stutters every 30s or so. I have a new computer (5600x with a rtx3070) and 32 gb of RAM.

Tried:
-Turning all settings down
-Limiting frame rate to 60 fps (I'm just a G-sync compatible monitor)
-Disabling all bluetooth (by physically removing the bluetooth dongle)
-Updating drivers/Windows

Nothing seems to work!

That's quite odd, because my hardware is quite weaker than yours and the game runs at 60 fps with no stuttering or frame drops..

It stutters all the time???

Got anything running in the background? Like antivirus or something? Also try turning on vsync according to your refresh rate(if you did not already).

I got a much slower computer and can maintain 60 fps most of the time(except for a few sections of the game).

Play under DX11
DX12 is buggy in this game.

Thanks guys, but I tried all this and it doesn't help. I'm just running around in the first subway car corridors with no enemies and I still get the issue. The lack of effect from all these graphical settings in a low graphical environment makes me think it's an issue with my install drive, but it's on a new SSD.

Seems to make no difference.

Nope, closed just about everything in the background.

Yeah, it's intermittent. Like every 30s or so.

Does it lag when you go to a new area (when the icon at the top left appears too) or do you get lag even when fighting in one area? Mine lags for about 2-3 seconds when loading a new area which is kind of annoying but while in combat no issues what so ever.

Nevermind i missed where you said you were running around the subway and it was doing it. I thought it was my ssd too, so i moved the install folder over to my other ssd and it still does it. It also does it in Re2 Remake as well. Not sure the cause, it is a bit irritating.

Try the disabling all overclocks including XMPs.

Questions:
- By stutter, do you mean just the FPS or does the audio stutter as well?
- Does it happen on RE3 exclusively?
- Are you running it on an SSD?

Just started this and it's doing the same thing on 6700xt. Using like 15% cpu and 20% gpu at 60fps and it's acting like it can't handle the game. That kind of stutter. And it's the same with all settings whether set low or high don't matter. Idk..

I don't think hdd/sdd matters in this case, it's not that stutter you get switching between areas, on this you get it just walking in a circle, no audio stutter just visual

Seems it's just busted ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Been complaints of this since release all over the internet, for all manner of pc builds, and still not fixed 2yr later. Am quite pissed cause was really looking forward to playing this.

same dude. My PC is over 8 years old but it plays RE2 just fine, RE7 the fans get louder but runs fine, RE8 again loud fans but runs fine. But RE3 acts like I got it running 144hz 4k on max settings when I am running it on the lowest resolution at 60 fps on the lowest.

Just tried playing this game, and I was experiencing stuttering when moving across different areas (i.e. opening doors or walking to new areas) and shooting zombies. With the new DX12 patch, I was still getting around 80-100 fps with RT on, albeit being a stutter fest.
I switched to the dx 11 beta they offer, and the stutters when moving to areas and shooting zombies were still there even with higher framerates. Tried RTSS frame limiter, but it's still there.
Played with the settings and I found that disabling SHADOW CACHE made the predictable stutters go away. Hope this fixes yours too. I'll try it with the DX12 w/RT version as soon as I have time.
*Played with RTX 2070 Super.

I have a 5600x as well, did you update BIOS? There was an issue with Ryzen CPUs that would cause stuttering. I would get complete system stuttering on graphics, sound, inputs every once in a while but not as frequently as you have been getting. https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-410 I hope this helps.

I did switch off the shadow cache, then played for a few minutes and then enabled it again and the stutter finally went away. I don't know why or how doing just that fixed it but it did.
