Why I think Resident Evil 3 Remake is a disappointment
Alright alright, first of all I ain't saying that its a bad game! Far from it actually, but what I find disappointing is how short the game is compared to the original, not helped by cut content such as Jill's visit to the RPD Station and bosses like Grave Digger worm.

Nemesis? His new looks is god awful, who in Capcom decided that him looking like a ding-dong was a good idea? Unlike Mr.X from Re:2 Remake Nemesis isn't really that big of a threat, considering how scripted his chases are, you can anticipate him before hand, while unlike Mr.X being a constant threat, roaming around the area and he could be right behind the next corner!
-
Gameplay wise... I played the game Hardcore and in all honesty I thought it was way too easy, kind of turning me off.
-
And what's with Carlos's mop of a hair style? Jeepers couldn't Capcom give him a better look other than sell us the original hair as DLC? (Which might as well have been a unlockable much like Leon's RPD outfit in Re 4.)
-
Now what do I like? Well most of the characters look good! (Minus Nemesis and Carlos).
The gameplay is fun in my opinion and the new dodge/Bash mechanic work with Jill and Carlos, due to them being more highly trained unlike Leon & Clair. (Though others might think his makes the game too easy.)

My overall thoughts? Re:3 Remake is a good game, but bad af remake.

(I'm not gonna even talk about the bloody multiplayer, which had no reason of being attached to this game in hopes of hiking up the price. Also note that I played this game on PS4 and not PC and that alone should speak volumes due to how hard it is to aim precisely with a controller xD)

yes i agree good game but bad remake and wonder how they are going to remake there other games. be honest i would tell capcom to take there time with other remakes of there games. we should learn how resident evil 1 remake is so good. they added more things to the game where the resident evil 3 remake takes out the best things. i agree to this post.

I like new Nemesis human look. It feels more realistic and dirty.

Not a fan of the Nemesis dog though. And Nemesis alien queen is like... really?

Play it in Nightmare/Inferno. Game is VERY difficult (without shop items of course).

Carlos is fine, he looks brazilian now.

Not a bad game, not a good remake either. A missed opportunity, CAPCOM did not put too much effort in it.

Yep. Not a bad game, but RE3 deserved much better. After RE2R especially, it feels like a cheap cash-in.

I agree with that statement. its a remake that was outsourced so different developers doing their own thing on the gameplay. hence why there are very strange sections in this game and almost non existent puzzles.

example - the bridge moment where the game is like " hold W". like for no reason at all. or the hosptial part at the end where you turn into JOHN RAMBO and ammo spawns outa thin air everywhere. awful truly awful.

What i dont get is putting some extra puzzles into the game would not have been a difficult task to do and it would of easily extended the gameplay without having to put in more sections of the game etc.

But like you said, they didnt really care much.

thats a very good guess thats what i think as will.
Game was too short, too linear, and does not give justice to Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999).Yes, It's incredibly sad that RE title is going downhill. Without Shinji Mikami, it'd be a lot harder for CAPCOM to develop decent survival horror game.

i think you give mikami too much credit. he didnt even make the "best" installment in the series. that was kamiya.

especially in regards to capcom properties, but do not forget the lessons mighty no. 9 taught us about rockstar producers who get credit for a popular series.

was guessing that after that final update to there game for multiplayer they would take a break and come back to it later. it would be very stupied if they just leave the project as it is and forget about it and be very bad for the outsource team becuase it would make them look like fools and mabe lost there jobs lol. in fact by what im seeing here is that capcom markets went very bad after the next couple mouths with remake of 3. whats funny is they spend alot of money yet failed to make this game. now its not such a bad game but it did not launch well for its game and its multiplayer. funny becuase they be outsouceing there games for years and most of them where not good. and you think capcom ever learn from this no lol.

The reasons why RE2 & Re3 are dissapointing to me :

RE 2 :
- no interaction at all between scenario A & B
- no spider : replaced by a horde of G-virus creatures
- no possibility to cut in 2 parts zombies with the shotgun
- no real Ada Wong, Marvin Branagh & Kendo scenarios
- no scenario at all for Sherry. The orphanage part is totally dissapointting.
- No intro into nightmarish streets : you are just in front of the police station in the starting avenue ! We all remember the stress to arrive in one piece in the RPD station. Here it's deleted and the streets are mixed in oprhanage's part but ... empty too and it's too easy to avoid fights.
- No giant moth : they could add it and make something scaring in the lab.
- No scenario for Hunk
- no random mode for the items (N64 option)
- no battle mode
- kendo's shop street empty !
- they could cut off the lights in the lab too & add zombies ! too much light and no dark places.

RE3 :
- scripted Nemesis : it destroys completely the ingenious original game system that created an intense stress to all players..
- no more influence of the choices on the running scenario (escape or fight nemesis)
- no Brad or Marvin scenarios
- no clocktower & parc
- a stupid giant ultimate boss not credible at all (they wanted to copy dead space ?)
- not enough street & building locations : huge lack of exploration !
- no zombie hordes
- no possbility to cut in 2 zombies wih the shotgun
- game looks like an action movie, you control few times the character. is it a game ?
- no mercenaries scenario (they could add one special to discover how they have been hurt and forced to find a shelter into the metro)
- an online game no one wanted. wasted money that could be invested into the lenght of the RE3 scenario and replay.

The problem is always the same in video game industry : you make a game and you take your time to make quality. it becomes a "hit" you have to make a second episode and plaf ! you have a deadline for the investors. your game is then lower in quality since you have no time to develop it correctly. I would wait 2 more years to get a better RE3 game, same for RE2 that was close to the perfection.

Let's wait 20 more years and many be we'll get something better & complete.

I agree with most of your gripes, but there is a mistake.

You can split zombies in two with shotgun in RE2R. Aim to the stomach at point blank range.
