Ignore the trolls saying "because it's trash" or things like that. The fact that you can get things like Umbrella Corps and RE Resistance on Steam proves that it doesn't have anything to do with how good or bad people claim these games to be.
I agree with you and Yes for me RE CV is not trash, this people who said that is not old school player of RE games, they never experienced in that time what was a real horror survival game.
You are right to ignore trolls because they are kids of new generation they just want games with good graphics but bad content and we can see what RE4,RE5 and RE6 did it screwed the franshise, good graphics but bad storyline and to much action, horror survival just died.
RE2 Remake was to much close to old RE2 classic but if we compare to RE3 as they call Remake but is a Reimaginate game is ♥♥♥♥ game, to much short, lack of areas diferent storyline and Nemesis transformations I don't want to even talk about it and ofc RE3 is very downgrade comparing to predecessor RE2 Remake.
About RE CV is very good and long game and still belongs to storyline because is related to Umbrella yet because there is still Ashford family, was 1of 3 of the founders that form Umbrella Corp. Capcom did wrong by fire shinji Mikami he was the creator and producer that make Capcom grows thanks to his RE products.
My favorite RE games are: RE0,RE1,RE2,RE3 and RE CV for me that 5 RE games are the real RE horror survival games that the storyline complete by each game.
You do know Shinji Mikami created RE4 right?
I know he created RE4 but he was not very happy with the game by seeing the path the game went. He always like to do horror survival games, he said in 1 of the interviews he wants to make the players explore the places and create thriller and suddenly enemies apear and at same time a player needs to gather ammo and save it and use it on the right time.
RE4 was just an experience, thats why it was action with kinda horror content, not anymore horror survival and RE5 and RE6 took the same path.
As a fan of the classic series and ps1 graphics in general, I still state with confidence that Re CV is an ugly, uninspired game with a c-grade action movie plot and weird, out of place characters.
It is my least favourite out of the classics. The later Res are a different beast entirely. Until the remakes, I didn't even consider them as Re games, rather as shooter spinoffs.
Resident Evil 2 is too easy and Resident Evil 3 had the worst bossfight of classic RE games.
On the other hand Code Veronica:
1.Is the only classic style RE game which was fully rendered.(Which made camera angles change much faster compare to other games where the game slows down for a moment to load the next background)
2.It's the longest classic RE game.(It has double times longer campaign compare to RE 1&2&3&Remakes&0)
3.It has the bossfight battles of classic RE games.
Code Veronica was 50-60 percent of Shinji Mikami's vision for a perfect RE game. It was far superior than all of classic RE games.(Excluding 1 original)
I always felt CV and RE1 needed a remake the most, since RE1 felt pretty dated by the time RE2 overhauled everything and CV has a lot of beginner traps that have screwed players over repeatedly over the years into restarting or giving up. It has some really interesting enemies like the Bandersnatch, so I'd love to see things redone to give the series more enemy varieties to work with.
Re2 was the easiest of the trilogy, but as an overall package, many if not most people consider it to be the best of the lot.
CV jumped on the full 3d train and the presentation suffered for it. The visual charm was lost in the process.
CV boss battles are cramped affairs with next to no room for you to maneuver. Just pump and heal. Not to say that other games faired much better, but CV was no improvement. Particularly that final boss. Shoot-stun-shoot-stun-shoot-stun...cr*ptastic design
As for 60% of Mikami's vision, sure dude, that may sound good on paper, but the finished game speaks for itself. Re2 and Nemesis blows CV out of the water.
RE0/1/2/3 and CV are the original RE charm, before the dark times.
I'm so sick and tired of immature idiots coming onto forums and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on classic games without so much as an argument ("its garbage I dont know why people like it"). For god's sakes go back to playing COD like the idiots you are. You're a disgrace to the RE community.
Also, it seems the best way to play the originals is the gamecube.
These Japanese games often release exclusively on Japanese consoles in HD, the Japanese game industry DOES NOT VALUE THE PC MARKET because its tiny in Japan. So its not the first thing that comes to their mind when releasing HD remasters.
You are the first guy I saw that thinks like me that this 5 RE games: RE0,1,2,3 and RE CV are the best that really have a narrative storyline, you sir are really a RE old school fan!
