Sure he spoke just 1 word but still a talking Zombie seriously?

Zombies always evolve into talking and regaining more of their human functions as they progress.

Personally not a fan of things like this... but its in almost everything zombie.

I was referencing the day of the dead movie with the bub comment.

I mean romero zombie lore is the most common basis with slight deviation and they introduced both bub in day of the dead and the black character in land of the dead (I don't know if he ever had a name, probably was on his uniform tho)

i know movies, but as said a lot of zombie lore is jacked from romero and changed slightly.

Well there was itchy tasty from RE1. Then there was the document from the guard room in RE2. Apparently this is a thing since they were inspired by George A. Romero.

There have been notes in other Resident Evil games about zombies uttering simple words. And it is a reanimated human corpse. Speaking is sort of a muscle memory - it can be done in your sleep, etc. Doesn't seem too far fetched for a zombie to force out a word as a reflex, especially if they are newly turned.

I'm thinking Brad headed to the RCPD building thinking Jill might be headed there, and turned just a few minutes before encountering Marvin.

Plus, we've got Nemesis running around groaning 'STAARRSSS' constantly. It isn't a big stretch.

I'm just pointing out that if a mutated monster with NO LIPS running around in trash bags roaring STAARRSS doesn't hurt your suspension of disbelief, a newly turned zombie uttering one halting and stuttered word shouldn't be a big deal.

I doubt he was fully and completely turned by this point, still trying to cling to whatever humanity was left. He's apologizing for what's about to happen. It's kinda like the whole Marvel Zombies thing from a long time ago, just not to the point where they can all talk

IDK, I think it's on par with the other zombies, ever since RE2 remake I always hear the female zombies once in a while say "Give me/Gimme" and the male zombies say "YOOOOOOOUUUUUU" and then Kendo's daughter spoke. Also in RE1 there's the keeper's diary which you see the regression of the mind of a person turning into a zombie, "Itchy Tasty". I don't think it's far fetch IMO.
