[SPOILERS] Defend in The Hospital - Not Enough Ammo

I'm stuck on the mission in the hospital after you administer the vaccine where you have to kill the waves of zombies. I keep running out of ammo. Even when I collect everything, I don't have enough to take out them all out. Wouldn't be an issue if I could dodge past the zombies like the rest of the game to get to my objective, but here you actually need to take them out. Is ammo meant to reappear or is my Save essentially busted?

I always try to conserve ammo but here there literally doesn't appear to be enough. I can't think what I'm doing wrong. I resorted to using my pistol ammo at the start but to no avail. Checked a walkthrough after multiple attempts and it said not to worry about conserving ammo as you just need to kill them all for this part. What am I doing wrong?

There's a lot of grenades in the back of the balcony

What difficulty are you playing on? Also try to go only for head shots and use the electric traps. If they fall down just ignore them unless they get back up again so you don't waste ammo shooting a dead body. After a bit an event triggers and you get access to grenades and flash grenades which should help. I've never had ammo issues here on any of the difficulties so that's the only advice I can give.

The generators that can be used to shock zombies deal damage to them, so theoretically you could probably try and get them to follow you and then run them around these two generators until they fry. You'd be in trouble when hunters come in though.

I had the same problem too. Well, I figured out that it takes 3 headshots by pistol and maybe 4 headshots by rifle to kill a zombe.

I played in Hardcore mode and had no ammo at all before this encounter.

Oh, and besides try to kill the first mole by using "dodge" 2 times and rifle, and the second mole by flashbang+HE. And make a good use of the secong HE.

And don't forget to gather ALL the ammo in the hall.

Thank you! Turns out I wasn't lining my headshots up properly. Forgot to use the flashbangs and grenades as well. Finally managed to get through it though

I cant even fathom how anyone can run out of ammo before the end... you must be missing and firing full auto 100% of the time.

there actually alot of ammo watch in those green crate

Ammo respawns in crates in this fight, by the way. So unless you're missing 90% of the shots you shouldn't have problems with ammo at all.
