It combines the comfort of a controller with the precision level of a mouse plus the aiming feels more immersive compared to both mouse- and analogstick aiming.

thats true, honestly i beat RE2 on hardcore and 95% of the time with a controller but last 2 boss fights i had to go with the m/kb, i needed the accuracy and fast response of the mouse, just couldnt do it with the controller, yet i couldnt help but feel that it was somehow spoling the real RE experience by doing so, if you played the PS1 originals you'd feel like its a feature to play with the controller, but i really didnt felt that the hardcore difficulty had it in mind... precision shots on eyeballs so real damage could be done, that really didnt go well with a controller... idk.
