What was Chris doing during RE3?

I have a strange gap in my RE lore as I've played RE1 and Zero but for some reason skipped RE2. Played RE3, never played Code Veronica, then played all games from RE4.

What was Chris doing during RE3 since in the original he only appeared at the very end. Could it be dlc for this game?

edit: and that was Barry who appeared at the very end of the original RE3. I'm assuming you meant the chopper pilot

Chris had left for Europe a few weeks before the RC outbreak. Chris wasn't the one who came at the end of the original RE3, that was Barry. In the run up to the outbreak, Barry moved his family to Canada and then returned to help Jill when he learnt of the outbreak.

Chris is in Europe investigating Umbrella branch there, which leads into Code Veronica.

In RE2, his sister Claire goes to Raccoon City to find him only to learn he was in "vacation" in Europe... Vacation because nobody could know he was conducting an investigation there.

In Code Veronica you play as Chris and that is what he was up to while Jill was in Raccoon.

Oh interesting. I've only remembered that a dude arrived in a chopper. So it was Barry? So I guess if Chris was in Europe they won't add him as dlc for this game, unfortunately.

That's if they will even do that. I hope they will but that could depend on lots of things, how RE3 Remake does for example.

Tbh I like the gameplay in these remakes but I kinda miss the co-op aspect of the later games. I'd also really like to see Sheva or Parker in another game.
