Same. It seems very hushed, almost muffled at times.

Glad to know I'm not the only one having this problem. The voices are so muffled I can't hear anyone speaking. Really makes it hard to enjoy the game when I can't hear it.

Audio levels are messed up on my end as well. Also having issues with the rendering of the world. I cant actually see where I'm supposed to go.

Make sure to change the audio to headphones and output to small for the better sound on headphones.
Only other thing I could think of is it could be an issue with certain audio cards.
What do you use?, RealTEK has had issues in the past so it could be a RealTEK issue.

I have a Realtek aound card, set to 5.1 speakers. The funny thing is that I didn't have these problems with RE2, or with the RE3 demo.

Using Realtek as well, but not with headphones. I don't have this problem with RE2 either, so this is a new issue.

I also use Realtek. Same issue.

Using the surround sound option caused certain sounds to play low/not play at all on my game. Try switching it to TV/Headphone mode in-game and see if it improves.

Also, I know there's a DTS setting on older Realtek versions. Checking the 'loudness' box should do the trick.

Okay, I solved it, and that includes using surround sound. In my Realtek HD Audio Manager driver software, in the Sound Effects section, I enabled the checkbox reading Loudness Equalization.

This didn't fix the issue for me, but it did point me in the right direction. It turns out that somehow, my connectors got changed back to line input and mic in, rather than my rear channels and center/subwoofer.

What fixed it for me was right-clicking the blue connector in the HD audio manager, selecting "Connector Retasking", and setting that one back to Rear Speaker Out, then doing the same with the pink connector, setting it to Center/Subwoofer Out. After doing that, the game sounds fine.

sounds like your computer is in 5.1 mode but you only have stereo speakers

In my case it's that I have 5.1 speakers, the game was set to 5.1, but my audio driver somehow reset itself to stereo.
