I am writing this review for people who are familiar with this series. For those who are not, I will give a quick summary: Play Alien Shooter Revisited or Zombie Shooter instead. Much better games.

One of the two latest entries into the Alien Shooter franchise, this game is based off of the engine for the first game.

Graphics are about the same as the first Alien Shooter 1 based games due to massive asset reusage. This is not a problem in and of itself, but something to note regardless.

Music wise, it's the same tracks that get reused throughout all of the Alien Shooter games, and frankly, I'm tired of them. *Please*, get new music. Or remix the tracks. Something, anything.

What's new, you ask? Well, a new turret mechanic has been added. You can hold up to six turrets, depending on your Strength stat, and lay them down at any time. Well, it's supposed to be at any time. I've found the key sometimes just doesn't work. The turrets are usually helpful, but for the first two levels they're not great. They upgrade automatically as you go along in the game. No need to find upgrades or purchase them.

So, why am I giving this a bad review? It's simple. the difficulty balance is off. On Normal, I couldn't beat the game. A first for a series veteran like myself. So, I tried Easy. Still couldn't do it. Then, I tried Casual and I was finally able to beat it. The last two levels are just too damned punishing. Somehow, they finally made a game with too many enemies. You just don't have the firepower to keep up! The turrets also don't do enough damage later on if you're on higher difficulties than Casual.

The levels are also bad. They're just kinda boring now, little mazes with seemingly no rhyme or reason to them. Very small, too.

Combine all of that with much worse level design and the music overuse being so severe that it has become grating on the ears, well... Just buy Alien Shooter Revisited or Zombie Shooter if you don't got 'em. They made a free game long ago with the same engine, Theseus: Return of the Hero. That one's pretty decent too. If you've already played those, upgrade to Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded or Zombie Shooter 2 or Alien Shooter 2: The Legend.

This is definitely the worst game they've put out. I'm sad. Actually sad. I was hoping this game'd be decent. :( I don't have high expectations for these games. I know what they are. They're solid but nothing super special. But most of 'em still got a place in my heart for being so single focused on a goal: killing as many monsters/zombies as possible. And this game just prevents you from doing that eventually. It's sad.

this is the first newer sigma team game i have played and it plays almost exactly like the original alien shooter that came out back in 2003 with some minor improvements new levels and a new gimmick.

what was really good about this game was how they changed some of the enemies from the original game to make them more effective and to mix it up a bit, and the new turrets are essential to play this game if you dont use them you die.

and what was not very nice about this game is that it reuses almost all the assets from their older games with almost nothing noticeably new apart from a big acid barrel a new weapon for a enemy a new boss and the turrets, all the music is reused except for maybe 1 new track? other then that new track everything is pretty much the same from ASV. the ui in this game is entirely designed around mobile games which is not very pleasant because this is a PC PORT.

but then again its just $5 so its not a bad deal so go for it if you really want.

It is a 2021 Alienshooter game, and yet Sigma team won't allow players to select missions in Campaign mode.

1. There's lots of things that suggest it's a port of a mobile game (the biggest giveaway being the UI and the way it functions).

2. The game works sorta better in 1920x1080 than the OG alien Shooter (the game doesn't require an exe hack for that, doesn't crash on some levels and tiles don't flicker) yet there's still no interface scaling in-game.

3. The entire level design revolves around blowing up enemy spawners with explosives that are sometimes hidden deep in the enemy lines (which means you'll have to bruteforce your way through nearly infinite conga lines of death purely relying on medkits, pickups that either randomly drop from the aliens or the ones that are just there along the way or just the will of the god of your choice) and using turrets that are generously scattered across the levels and upgrade automatically the further you progress into the game.

4. The final level might as well be nigh impossible (at least on the hard difficulty) since the game decided to abruptly finish the level not even letting me kill the final boss who has ludicrous amounts of health.

Sigma Team somehow finally made an Alien Shooter game with too many enemies to the point that even the newly introduced turrets can't always stop them.

Just play Alien Shooter 1 or 2.

Honestly don't get the positive reviews, the game is just horrible.
It's a bad PC port of a mobile game, they didn't even bother to rename the prompts (eg tap here to proceed).
Enemy spawning is completely broken. Rather than work its way up to hordes and different types of enemies, it just
throws insane numbers of enemies and the turrets do nothing to make the experience any more pleasant.
Even using cheats, it's a chore to play.
Sigma Team should stop rehashing the same ideas and instead make Dino Shooter.

Alien Shooter Last Hope was a fun game at first. Then late game the issues of this game being a poor port of a mobile game became more and more obvious. there are dead zones where you can NOT aim and shoot your weapon. I try to shoot enemies from the top right corner with the magma cannon and I cant because the weapon selector is in the way. If it wasn't for that it would be worth the $5, but I had a good bit of situations where my weapon would just stop shooting and it just became frustrating. Also the final boss is one of the most bullet spongey things I have ever faced in my life. Tough one to recommend.

This game is unbalanced garbage on medium difficulty.

Stay away from this frustrating ♥♥♥♥.

Alien Shooter - Last Hope is basically a mission pack (as a standalone game) for the original Alien Shooter, with the older graphics. If you have played this series or Zombie Shooter, you know the drill: ten missions in the campaign, additional survival game mode, same old enemies, weapons and shop system, however now you can use turrets, which going to get upgraded throughout the campaign and there is a boss monster, too. I need to mention the new tracks in the game, which are quite good to be honest.

The game gives a new challenge for those who know the series, but there is nothing significant in the game which makes it worth to buy for the newcomers or for those who want to find something new in the series. You can have some fun until the 8th - 9th level, but the last level is quite difficulty, especially because of the boss, who you could shoot for 5 minutes straight on normal (second hardest) difficulty, it will be still alive. Not gonna lie, that was incredibly annoying and boring to complete.

If you are new to the series, this should be a "last resort" to buy, if you need more Alien Shooter gameplay. I think this is more like a DLC then a new game, and basically this is why I can't really recommend to anyone, maybe if you can get it for a 1€ - 1.5€.

Surprisingly they didnt mess this one up. In a sense this is an improved version of the first original Alien Shooter that we all love dearly. Turrets are an addition in this one for some reason but it isnt a bad one I guess... I was surprised to see them sort of adding a new enemy to the game and Ive never seen those blue-ish lab like walls be destructible before, but if such small details are the only new things added to this title then why bother paying for this one also?

for me personally it was not fun at all. The game try's to copy what made the first alien shooter good but fails horribly. the ui feels way too much like a mobile game and it seems that the game was never made for pc.
