Linux support
Do you have any plans for supporting Linux in future?

Game is running, but skybox is missing and there are still some errors.

If everything goes well, we'd like to release Linux version shortly after PC, but I cannot guarantee it.

Looking forward to this.

If this gets a Linux port I will defiantly grab a copy, Steampunk is one of my my favourite genres

This looks interesting, will definitely buy if it's ported to linux

Definitely would buy a native linux port. This looks AWESOME!

looks really interesting - welcome to my wishlist ;) Reminded me a bit of Midwinter (although that is a very blurry old memory ;))

Progress update:
Game is running well on SteamOS (Mesa driver 17.2.4)
It's not running on Ubuntu with older AMD GPUs (HD 6950 and older)
Minimum requirements will be OpenGL Core 4.5 or Vulkan

There are some minor issues like ~20s black screen during startup when OpenGL/Vulkan is compiling shaders. We try to postpone it to loading screen.

Unless we hit some roadblock, alpha version 1.13 (coming in week or two) will include Linux support.

Awesome, can't wait!

Progress update 2:
We will be releasing Linux support in upcoming update 1.13
Minimum requirement is OpenGL Core 4.3

Black screen startup issue has been fixed, shader compilation has been moved into loading screen (when going from menu to game).

The game loads 30-120s slower than on Windows, because OpenGL shader binaries are HW / Driver specific and we cannot compile them during build.

We hope to address this issue by using Vulkan graphics API. Vulkan implementation is in progress, but not ready for release yet, there are rendering artifacts.

That sounds great! I thought compiled shaders could/would be cached after first compiling, though. There's even some mechanism by Valve to download shadets precompiled by others, AFAIK.
Ondrej Petrzilka  [developer] Jan 8, 2019 @ 3:25am
@Zyro That would be great, but it's not happening on engine (Unity3d) or driver level.
Needed functionality is not exposed to us by engine.

It only affects OpenGL, other APIs have universal binary shader format.
Sooner we finish Vulkan the better.
