Weird ouo
For the record, I didn't have to fiddle with graphics settings after doing this. What I believe is happening is that the game is simply running out of some resource during this Somnium. It could be either RAM or video memory, I'm not sure. Once it runs out of it, it just crashes. If my assumption is correct, then both closing the apps and changing the settings can help, but the latter may be unnecessary if just closing the apps will free up enough resources.
The error file says Access violation. Maybe it's because I don't have it installed on my C drive?
Hope this solution works for you all!
Because it seems like they are using much more visual effects during somnium scenes, which could possible not be playing nice and triggering overlays and crashware.
Also have any of you actually followed instructions and send the dxdiag and detailed description of your problem to their support email instructed in pinned topic?

(Windows+R, "dxdiag", wait for it to load, "save all information" button)
Shouldn't effect and doesn't appear to have effect.
It does, as disabling vsync does enable 60 FPS cap, which is most likely in place to ensure that everything in the game is working as designed.
There's already known issue when exceeding 100 FPS, so wouldn't surprise me if there was other stuff breaking similarly at higher than 60 FPS.

I noticed that the one and only Somnium in which I saved/loaded I got 5-10 crashes even when saving frequently there. None of the tips mentioned about changing graphics settings helped, still being inside that Somnium. But then I didn't save in any other Somnium, and I never got another crash?
