Game Freezes During Movie Scenes
Thank you for reporting this issue and sending your PC specs.
We are currently looking into the cause and solution.
It seems that the game becomes unresponsive when the movie is supposed to start to play, but then after the movie is supposed to end, (for example, 40 seconds in the case of the opening movie), it becomes responsive again and you can continue playing.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we investigate.

現在、ゲーム中の一部のムービーが再生されない現象を確認しています。
本現象の再現と調査を進めておりますので、続報をお待ちください。
また、本現象が発生した場合、ムービー画面で40秒程度待つとゲームに復帰、進行することがあります。

有關部分影像在遊戲中無法正常播放之異常問題
內容
目前開發團隊已確認到在遊戲進行中，有部分影像無法正常播放之異常問題。
有關本次異常問題仍在著手調查、重現中，還請各位玩家等候我們後續的公告。
此外，若在遊戲進行時發生類似問題，請在影片畫面中停留約40秒，有機會能使遊戲恢復正常運行。

因遊戲異常而造成各位玩家遊玩上的不便，在此致上萬分歉意。

For now, the workaround is getting windows 10.

Got Windows 10 just for this game, can confirm, game is way better. I would NOT play with Win7. Destroys the experience.

Spike Chunsoft messaged me about the Win7 bug. They released a beta fix.

I tried out the beta build. I could get through (what I presume to be) most of the opening video.

However, I believe that the game freezes for the same amount of time as before: When the freeze ended, the game was further along than it was before. In other words, the game froze for the same amount of time, but at a different point of the opening movie/immediately after the opening movie.

Why can't the game just use the same programming/code that all the previous spike chunsoft releases have used? Played quite a few of them on this comp, including UDG which uses anime cutscenes, and they all worked fine, so this issue is frustrating me to no end.
Especially since changing to the beta build did nothing. Same issue is still there, now with a completely new one. Exiting the options menu gets you stuck on a black screen where you can't do anything other then move the mouse icon.
