Game won't start

If i start the game it says Error unable to init AGEIA PhysX (TM) can someone help?

If you guys are running nvidia cards, installing this legacy driver might fix it: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12.1031-legacy-driver.html . Awful lot of older PhysX games are broken now without legacy drivers. :(

Yes, FFOW uses an old legacy driver (as does Borderlands1 I think), follow the link & install that & you will be fine.

Mine had some trouble starting up as well, so I exited steam, went to the steam folder and deleted the appcache folder, then restarted it.
Whatever was going on got cleared up and its runnin fine.

I added the legacy drivers and it finally started, but have no sound

Strange I downloaded the legacy driver and it works fine for me.

I installed new drivers for cod ghost and to my surprise found I didn't have to uninstall the old ones,they were removed by nvidia installer. Do I have to uninstall the physx driver manually to install the legacy driver

I can confirm that the legacy drivers solved this issue for me. Strange. I don't have an nvidia graphics card.

These Legacy Drivers are an integral part of some games, especially those from before 2009 & are not to be compared with normal Graphic Drivers. Thankfully Nvidia noticed these problems with the old Drivers & released a new one for WIndows 7 & 8. I read yesterday that Nvidia had taken over Ageia & that could be also a reason why it works for you although you do not have a Nvidia graphic card. Greetings from Germany.
