You live long enough, you have regrets. And the ones that nag at you the most are the ones where you knew you had a choice.

:GoldHorseShoe: Caregiver for someone who's seriously ill, so I'm online often but can vanish at the drop of a hat for several hours. During the odd free time periods I have, I'll usually be found up to my neck in wacky simulators or some other equally strange title. I review most of what I play, even if it sucks.

:bsoderror: My net connection is a data-capped, high-latency joke so I do very little in the way of multiplayer sessions nowadays. Might as well not add me for any online gaming as it ain't happening. Maybe one of these days I'll get a decent ISP. I hope.

:brigalarm: I'm pretty antisocial and usually keep to myself, just a heads-up in case you're assuming I'm some kind of social butterfly. I respond to messages, I just...y'know...don't send many myself lol

:tw_butterfly: If you're looking for someone to convoy with in Time Warpers, I'm no longer playing on the community server so I can't help you. Sorry. Grew tired of the connection issues and erased progress.

:BigEyeGhoul: Wondering why I sometimes post several screenshots with captions explaining what they're of? I'm in the Playing Appreciated SG group, it requires proof you're actually playing your wins.

Arguably one of the nicest initial Early Access releases I've bought, TaLS feels more like a complete game than lots of the other titles I own. It's not Euro Truck 2 by any means, but it's more like how people thought ETS2 would turn out. The game world is nicely detailed and as stated is fully open so if you lose control and slide off the road you can go anywhere to find a new route if needed. And yes, this has working player-hosted multiplayer with same-destination load selection capabilities from the start.

You start off with an unlicensed, fairly obvious copy of the Renault Kangoo and deliver palettes in it or towed behind, along with the odd cement mixer or two until you've got enough saved up to buy one of 20+ other vehicles. Basically all the game boils down to right now is saving up for, buying, and customizing one of everything. You can sell what you're driving to buy something new, or just fill your garage and swap between vehicles as you like. Vehicles can be damaged, as can cargo if you're not careful and it flies off into the great beyond.

Overall reviews for this bounce between Positive and Mixed often, for good reason. TaLS does have several flaws. AI traffic gives way if forced to, but sucks at pathfinding especially at higher speeds. Traffic lights roll from red to green and back far too quickly. Some of the smaller vehicles, such as the pickups, somehow get damaged on invisible barricades dividing opposing lanes in-town. Keyboard steering is flaky, and while mouse steer has been promised it's not yet been added. The automatic transmissions sometimes forget to select a gear if you've just braked hard so you'll end up low speed coasting for a wee bit.

Despite the above, I still say Truck and Logistics Simulator is a solid buy. It's got the manual cargo loading so many of us wanted in ETS2 and ATS, plus the option to just haul loads with smaller vehicles for a change. Multiplayer features the option to disable collisions if a troll joins your server, but the players are by and large very friendly and courteous to others. The dev team is super active with patching and community interaction as well. All this really needs are some "numbers of cargo hauled" achievements for each vehicle to give it some longevity and I'd almost call it done.
