It's way more fun with 8-10, 6 being minimum I think.

with 4 people it will mean that after 2 non-imposters are dead/voted out the imposter wins automatically, if you are okay with it then go for it

I believe the game does work with 4, but it's not very fun.

i'd imagine with 4 it would be very easy to determine the imposter unless no one can find the bodies.
