Is this game OK for a 8 year old?
My son says he wants to play it but I was wondering what the online community is like. I normally avoid online with kids because of the trolling etc.

turn on chat filter and you should be fine
Game is not for people under 18- teaches children to murder each other and then lie.

No, it's not good for kids at all.

Hey there. My niece and nephew play this game though I never played with them personally.

But yeah I would just advise them and keep the word filter on. If anything NSFW, it may be the nicknames or people bypassing the filter.

I've seen it work well for 10yo kids with child and parent each taking turns and the parent is there to talk the child through how to deal with the occasional toxic person. Your experience may vary.

so heres the honest opinion aslong as he is not in a voice chat, which is where you can feel and actually hear the toxicity it is fine but the text chat can be fine but i am absolutely sure your son is a good kid and you taught him well enough to know the diffrence between right and wrong and push comes to shove, it is also a family friend game as well, so you and your family can play it and have fun, i know i have a blast with it. but over all i think its a fun game and aslong as said person doesnt take it to serious it would be a great game for said person. and i agree with whitepxges the text filter will make the diffrence as well.

Are you the parent of this child? no? then stfu.

To be fair, I've wondered this as a parent as well. That's why I think it's important for a parent to be involved. That way the parent can talk morals as well as how to deal with swearing trolls.

I don't recommend this game to any child.

My 12 year old is a vicious dishonest murderer now. I might let her try this game out.

I wouldn't let my kids play it unless they are playing with a known group of friends or family members. Heck, I as an adult won't play it unless I'm playing with a known group of friends.

Content wise, it's very cartoon-y violence but the deaths are fairly graphic even without blood and gore. Some kids might be upset by it. Some might not.

The controls are very easy to grasp and the tasks could easily be completed by an average 8 year old with some playtime in the sandbox to understand the directions.

It is highly anxiety inducing though. So if you have an already high anxiety kiddo or one who has a tendency towards nightmares, it's a really bad choice.

Not to mention the predators that infect the game......
